Greetings from offshore of the Kuiu Islands, Alaska!
This morning, we've turned towards Juneau, and are heading towards the fjiords towards the point where the Endicott Arm excursion will head out. We're expecting overcast weather all day, but I'm excited to do some shopping, and to go on our whale watching expedition tonight.
Right now, I'm sitting on the verandah, watching the white capped mountains slide by. They're beautiful, but I am currently freezing my ass off. I may need to go inside and put on some more clothes. I've already got a heavy shirt and thermal leggings on, but apparently, I may need more. It's 41 degrees, but feels much cooler with the breeze of the ocean.
My knee is especially pissed at me right now, giving me stabbing pains every time I walk. I will not listen to it, because I will do stuff. I'm going to take some ibuprofen and grin and bear it.
Yesterday, we were busy bees on our sea day. First up early. The brother in law had ordered breakfast, and had accidentally gotten four instead of one, so I ate a hearty breakfast with fried eggs, hashbrown, toast and bacon and sausage.

It was quite good, and I was well fortified for the game. Had some technical issues, where Discord stopped recognizing my earphones, so most of it was playing over the speakers and computer microphone. It worked, and we had an excellent session. My players continue to amaze me with their willingness to be vulnerable and open in their roleplaying, and we had some amazing moments.
Towards the end of the game, we cleared the Inside Passage, and were in open water. It was a bit choppy, and the BIL was super dizzy. I was mildly dizzy, but pushed through to go to Alaskan Brunch.
The food was amazing, and we ate quite a bit. I had an appetizer of goat cheese with berries and balsamic, which was amazing. No picture of that, because I tore into it right away. Main course was a Tarragon and Wild Mushroom Crepe.

It was delicious, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Then, for dessert a custard tart with more berries. SO good. It had tiny vanilla meringues on it that were divine.
After that, we hit the shops for some sunscreen and then headed back to the room to digest. At 3, high tea arrived, with little sandwiches and scones and tasty treats.

It was wonderful, and I had way too many cups of tea. The seas settled while we were eating, as we went back into the channel around Vancouver Island. Around four, we went up to meet the perfectly lovely gentlemen from the facebook group. Two of them will be coming on our whale watching tonight, and I'm happy about it. They both are adorable.
Then, Jess and I went for our massage which was wonderful, and we allowed ourselves to be upsold products at the end.
Came back to the room for appetizers, which were excellent fried shrimp and little salmon crostinis. (no pictures, we devoured them.)
Then, it was off to the Rolling Stone Rock room for some music. It was mostly 50's and 60's music, but the band was amazing. I was starting with a headache, but I butched it out and we went to the world stage and watched Fosse and Verdon, which was documentary/dance troupe. Unfortunately, we hit open water again during the show and began pitching and rolling again. Sadly, this combined with the lights led to an early exit for me, as my headache roared up, turning into an icepick behind the eye.
I went to the room and was delighted to find a friend waiting on the bed.

I passed out soon after. So far, I've had absolutely no trouble sleeping. We're doing so much that I'm thoroughly exhausted by the end of the day.
Now I shall relax for a few more minutes, and then go up to the Lido Market for breakfast when they open. I'm a wee hungry, as the appetizers we made dinner have long since departed. Everyone have an outstanding Monday!
