Greetings y'all! It is just about 5 am and I'm awake and ready to progress to the getting on the boat time. Sadly, that's still about 5 hours away, so I will have to chill out for a bit. We've got a few things to do yet. First of all, clothes other than a nightgown must be put on, then breakfast must be obtained and then we must call the nice people at the hotel to take our luggage down. Then, and only then, can we head down to the ship. It hasn't pulled in yet as far as I know. I haven't seen it coming in, but it's possible it was here super early and is on the other side of the pier. I am hella impatient. I want things to progress to the good part right away.

Yesterday was a fun, but exhausting day. We got up early and enjoyed the complimentary hotel breakfast in the club lounge (which I totally paid for when I upgraded). They had very good food. General breakfast stuff, sausage, bacon, waffles as well as some lovely eggs benedict. The sausage was very good, and if they have it this morning, I know where I'm beelining. In addition, they have meat and cheese and hardboiled eggs, smoked salmon (so you know you're in the Pacific NW.) This hotel has been a total joy, and I've enjoyed it a lot. Everyone has been super friendly and wonderful. The people in the club lounge are efficient, and serve 4 separate food times--Breakfast, Tea time, appetizers for dinner and a dessert. Of those, we haven't made it to the dessert, but the rest were excellent.

After breakfast, we jumped on our hop on hop off tour through The Great Canadian Trolley Company, and headed for a tour of Vancouver. It was super cool going through Stanley park and seeing the gorgeous sights. Our tour guide was a delight. We did not stop hop off until we got to Granville Island. It was about a twenty minute walk from the stop to the market, but once we got down there, stopping every few minutes to give my sister a rest, we made it there.

The food was excellent. We stoppped at the Pie Man for salmon chowder and French onion potpies, which both were amazing. I walked a bit while they ate, because I was on a mission to find Celine's Fish and chips. The halibut fish and chips was so good. I also got the Maple Glazed smoked salmon from Longliner Seafood. It was not my thing, but It was still objectively tasty. We had a good time in the market, and then debated our options. Did we want to walk uphill for ten minutes to get to the bus, or did we want to take the AquaBus, and cut across to Yaletown and catch it there. It looked like that was the closer option, so we loaded ourselves onto a tiny little water taxi, and had a beautiful sail around the harbor. It sill was a bit of a walk to where we caught the trolley, but slightly better than it would have been back to the Granville stop. I enjoyed the rest of the tour, and then we were back to the hotel and relaxed for a few minutes and had tea and scones.

Jess and I walked around a bit before scones, taking pictures off the pool deck.

The food again was plentiful, and I got another coffee to help me stay awake for the movie. Then we walked down the (long) pier and headed over to Flyover. It's a VR ride, where you sit and the seat lifts you up and there's a big curved screen, and there's a flyover of the Canadian countryside, with the seat tilting you as you bank and mist spraying your face as you fly through clouds and near raging waterfalls. Super coool, and if you ever get the chance to do one of them, I highly recommend it. Then, we headed back to the room, having begged off our dinner with Facebook friends as we were all flagging, and didn't have anything left in the social bank.

The view from the club lounge

Instead, we went back up to the club lounge and made a meal out of the appies. Tonights was the usual meat and cheese spread as well as some smoked salmon crostini with creme fraiche, a Mushroom artichoke salad that I relally liked and then on the hot side, we had jalapeno shriim with a thai chilli sauce (so tasty) as well as croistini with a rich cheese dip that was amazing. Later they brought out curry wrapped in a wonton wrapper and fried. Also very good, but a touch to spicy for me to eat more than a couple of bites. I made a total pig of myself on everything, making it a lovely dinner. Again, I figured that I'm paying for it, we might as well enjoy everything the hotel has to offer.

Once that was done, we headed back to the room to relax, and get ready for the movie.

The Uber over was wild. This dude drove like he was in formula one, I swear. But we got there (super early thanks to the Usain Bolt of drivers.) We chilled until the theater opened up and settled in for the movie. I think the previews and commercials were longer than the movie, but whatever.

Mortal Kombat 2 was aggressively stupid, to the point where I was pretty sure I knocked points of my IQ by the end. It also was SO much fun. The fights were fun and it was colorful and flashy. It was a great, enjoyable terrible movie. I love Josh Lawson as Kano, and Karl Urban did a good job with Luke Cage as an aging washed up star. I cannot begin to tell you how stupid this movie was. Or how much fun. I came out with that great feeling you get after a movie that caters to your id. My id is apparently a 12 year old boy going "Teresa want big boom."

Then, we came back to the hotel, with a thankfully more sedate driver, and came up and did some packing before bed. Once I finish here, I'll get dressed and stow my nightgown and all the stuff that had to wait before we packed it, like pills and the sound machine.

In an hour and twenty, I'll text the crew to see who's up, so we can get this party started. It's been lovely Vancouver, but I'm ready for the next adventure. For now, I'm just going to relax and wait for our ship to return to port.

Everyone have a tremendous Saturday!
