Some days my brain and body annoy me. It's Sunday, and I have nothing planned until 5:30pm. it would be an awesome day to sleep in, yet here I am at 4am, wide awake.

Yesterday was good. I got up early and went to work. Thankfully, the feared onslaught of calls never materialized, and we were actually pretty quiet. The absolute longest a call held was3 seconds, because there was not a time that we didn't have people available. I honestly stayed in meeting and did busywork most of the day. I also answered questions, and helped out people by pointing out slots I had held for STAT patients. I ended taking one call in the morning when people were logging in and making a few calls. It was 2 hours of my life I won't get back, but on the other hand, it's $200 that I will. It'll probably end up going to an avalanche of souvenirs, but That's cool.

After work got off, I switched my desk up and it was time to play D&D. This was the second session of Marchen, and so far, it's going really well. I'm taking my time with this game and trying not to rush the plot. Last session we had introductions and set up. This was all about equipping them and giving them each a few more scenes to establish the characters and let them meet some other NPCs, give them a chance, so that the stakes have faces and people to connect them to.

There was one scene especially where the young prince came and hid in our bard's bedroom. The bard is a feral wounded Pied Piper who hates everyone. It could have been over in five minutes, with the PC shovine him out, but instead, it was one of the more endearing moments.

It was a lovely session, and I'm cautiously optimistic that the campaign is going to turn out well. After game, we stayed on for another while talking, which was really nice. I like my friends, and it's always nice to spend time with them.

Once that was done, it was time to go run up to the doggy camp because we had forgotten to get Yoda's medication when we picked him up. God knows, dog needs his crazy meds. Then, I stopped and got some cash out. I want to take at least a couple thousand dollars in cash with me, and most of my ATMs have a $1000 a day limit, so I needed to get a head start. I am going to go to one of the banks on Tuesday, maybe during lunch to get out some smaller bills. I've got plenty of 20's and 50's, but nothing smaller.

We came home and relaxed until dinner, then afterwards, we sealed up Yoda's food, which had been cooking while i was at work. IT ended up making 11 packets, so hopefully this means that I'm going to be able to get all of his food ready in the next 2 days and we'll be good for the trip. It was a good start, we're about a third of the way there.

Then, Jess and I went and relaxed, and eventually went to bed. Today will be a quiet day at home. We could go out to lunch, but we decided that we'd be better off staying in, away from germs, and have a quiet, chill day.

Tomorrow will be back to work, way too soon, Supposedly they were pushing the fix today to stop the AI from hanging up on people, so more may be broken when we get in. Fingers crossed that it goes smoothly.

4 fucking days! Holy shit. Aka, vacation thoughts. )

It was so nice having Yoda home tonight. Jess and I went to lay down early, since they had a headache, and Yoda came in with us and snuggled up with me. It was very sweet, and I missed his little back pressed up against my legs. It wasn't a comfortable position for me at all, but he was happy and warm, and it made my heart happy.

I laid there and read the messages my players sent on discord post game. They chatted about it for a good long while, which as the DM gives me a warm fuzzy feeling to know that they're so into it that they need to discuss it more and talk about the things they liked. I wanted to pull the feeling around me like a blanket and just roll around in bed in it. Just a really great feeling.

And on that note, I shall end the entry, and commence relaxing. Everyone have a truly wonderful Sunday!
