Greetings from somewhere in the Pacific Ocean, near British Columbia, Canada! The water is a little choppy and we've definitely got some movement. Not enough that I'm sorry I ate breakfast, but it's definitely a touch moving some. The BIL has put on a seasickness patch to prevent further nausea, but overall, we're okay.
Yesterday was another somewhat frenetic day. We started out with a lovely breakfast at the Pan Pacific Club Lounge, and then called for our baggage to be transported to the ship. They came up super fast, so then we stared at each other for an eternity, waiting for the time to go. We ended up leaving super early, and got to the port about 45 minutes early. They settled us into wait, and eventually a lovely Holland America rep came to escort us onto the ship.
Security was basically a non issue. We passed through super fast, and we're on the boat by 11:15. Our suite was ready, so we were shown to it. this thing is bonkers. I uploaded a video to the Alaska folder of it, but it's totally overkill. Our concierge, Rachel is super sweet, and went through all the perks with us. It was a bit overly enthusiastic. My sister says it's aggressive hospitality. It's been a lot. After that, we went to the concierge lounge for a bit of snacks to hold us til dinner. We had a meeting at 3 to discuss our vow renewal ceremony, for more aggressive hospitality. There were so many things to choose, flowers, cake, vows. We went with the standard vows, lily's for flowers and a vanilla cake with raspberry filling. Then we came back for sail away, and sat on the balcony as we pushed off from the dock and were on our way. We cracked open our complimentary bottle of champagne and drank as we sailed.
Sailing under the Lionsgate bridge was amazing, and kind of surreal.
We headed for dinner and I had the best Peruvian Chicken. Again, our suite number got us more over the top hospitality, and attention. We got another glass of complimentary champagne with dinner, which tasted amazing. I will definitely be getting more of that.
After dinner, more watching the scenery, and then Jess and I went wandering a bit. We walked around deck 11 and looked more at the scenery, and then headed to the pizza place for a late night snack.
Finally, after a long day, we crashed out and slept until this morning. In about 30 minutes we'll have game. We did a test discord call that was fine, so hopefully, it holds out properly.
After that, it'll be an Alaskan Brunch, and then I think I'm going to the thermal spa for a while. We have a hot stone massage at 5:30, and then the Captain's welcome and maybe a show.
