Had a fairly awesome weekend, which involved not doing much of anything. *grin* Sometimes, that's the best way to do it.
Saturday, we didn't do much of anything. Had lunch, looked for movies and found fuck all at any of the places we tried. Instead, we just chilled out and watched Torchwood. Mmmm...Ianto/Jack.
Sunday, we went to the local farm and got apple cider donuts, then off to the grocery to get some eggs and creamer. Then, we had lunch and headed to the flea market to scope out some old movies that kind of tie into the Retriever fic we posted on Jess' journal Friday. Then, I made bread pudding out of the donuts and we settled in for the post apoc movie fest.
*nod*
Awesome. So many crappy movies that I hadn't watched in forever. We made it through Judge Dredd, Johnny Mnemonic and Freejack, with Blade Runner, Escape from NY/LA, Strange Days, and a rewatching of Serenity still to come.
On the fic front, I'm working on the next part of the Retriever verse now. Later, I'll work on the next Deathknell. Sadly, the Deathknell was ready, and then we realized it needed a chapter in front of it. So yay for two parts almost totally written?
And now, to pretend that I'm actually working.

Date: 2007-10-22 01:56 pm (UTC)You had the same kind of lazy weekend I had. Season 1 of Heroes arrived on Saturday, so I ended up watching that all weekend, while drinking huge amounts of tea.
One of those teas is called Witches' Brew (cinnamon, pepper, nutmeg, apple, ginger and something I have no English word for). Lovely!! And it made me think to check up on both your LJs. Cool huh?

Date: 2007-10-22 03:46 pm (UTC)6 eggs, lightly beaten, two cups of milk, vanilla, sugar and cinnamon to taste, and about 14 donuts. enough to come to the top of the mixture, but loosely. There should still be puddles of the eggy mixture. Bake on 375 for 46-65 minutes, until firm. Awesome.

Date: 2007-10-22 03:43 pm (UTC)Also, because the vet just called this minute, hooray, my kitties' blood tests came back normal (for him) and no worse, maybe a little bit better (for her). It's a good day!

Date: 2007-10-23 02:19 am (UTC)A friend just got me hooked on Torchwood - it's a great show.

While I admit Deathknell is my first love and I am eagerly awaiting the next chapter(s), the two of you have done quite a job of getting me hooked on pretty much everything you're writing right now. Thanks for thinking up all these different and wonderful stories and sharing them with us :-)

Date: 2007-10-23 04:00 am (UTC)I was going to suggest the movie Hardware (http://us.imdb.com/title/tt0099740/) for your post-apocalyptic movie theme, but it seems to be hard to find on DVD. Maybe one day you will catch it on TV. It is worth watching, imo.
Ps. I finally got up the nerve to friend you both.

Date: 2007-10-23 07:49 pm (UTC)*coughs* Which is to say, yes, I am absolutely certain that we were speaking of Deathknell, as the two sound nothing alike and were written by two TOTALLY DIFFERENT SETS of wives. :D
