(no subject)

Had a fairly awesome weekend, which involved not doing much of anything. *grin* Sometimes, that's the best way to do it.

Saturday, we didn't do much of anything. Had lunch, looked for movies and found fuck all at any of the places we tried. Instead, we just chilled out and watched Torchwood. Mmmm...Ianto/Jack.

Sunday, we went to the local farm and got apple cider donuts, then off to the grocery to get some eggs and creamer. Then, we had lunch and headed to the flea market to scope out some old movies that kind of tie into the Retriever fic we posted on Jess' journal Friday. Then, I made bread pudding out of the donuts and we settled in for the post apoc movie fest.

*nod*

Awesome. So many crappy movies that I hadn't watched in forever. We made it through Judge Dredd, Johnny Mnemonic and Freejack, with Blade Runner, Escape from NY/LA, Strange Days, and a rewatching of Serenity still to come.

On the fic front, I'm working on the next part of the Retriever verse now. Later, I'll work on the next Deathknell. Sadly, the Deathknell was ready, and then we realized it needed a chapter in front of it. So yay for two parts almost totally written?

And now, to pretend that I'm actually working.

No Jared/Jensen/Jeff from the OT3 verse :(
I'm DYING for the scene where Jeff comes home to vulnerable!Jensen.
That series got me hooked on OT3!
But more deathknell and retriever will kick ass too!
Happy writing...

Actually, that's in the works, too. *grin*

IT's a little bit further down the queue, but it's definitely in there!

Anything Deathknell is fabulous. I hang on your every word. And the Retriever story is mouthwatering, really luscious. :)

*blush* We're working on it! And thank you!

I think anything you lovely ladies produce is good, so updates of any kind make me really, really happy.

You had the same kind of lazy weekend I had. Season 1 of Heroes arrived on Saturday, so I ended up watching that all weekend, while drinking huge amounts of tea.

One of those teas is called Witches' Brew (cinnamon, pepper, nutmeg, apple, ginger and something I have no English word for). Lovely!! And it made me think to check up on both your LJs. Cool huh?

[identity profile] beanside.livejournal.com 2007-10-22 03:11 pm (UTC)(link)
Heee! Thank you! The tea sounds kinda awesome. But really, witches brew? Us? *grin*

I have to just pause for a moment and say, bread pudding out of donuts???? That sounds like one of the most sinfully delicious things I've ever heard of EVER.

And I'm extremely glad to hear that films have been watched and fic is being written. *pets lovely fic*

Here's to relaxing weekends!

It was kinda awesome.

6 eggs, lightly beaten, two cups of milk, vanilla, sugar and cinnamon to taste, and about 14 donuts. enough to come to the top of the mixture, but loosely. There should still be puddles of the eggy mixture. Bake on 375 for 46-65 minutes, until firm. Awesome.

More any-of-your-stories is good news in my book!

Also, because the vet just called this minute, hooray, my kitties' blood tests came back normal (for him) and no worse, maybe a little bit better (for her). It's a good day!

Did Road Warrior/Mad Max 2 make your viewing list? The opening sketch of Retriever--wasteland, venturing out for supplies, warlords--reminded me of it. But it was my fave movie when it came out--I found it totally emotionally engaging. Sacrifice, betrayal, choosing to remain human(e). Yum!

I'm with indusnm,/b>. I'm dying for more OT3. I keep checking for another story, but alas... Soooo happy to hear there is one in the works, though!

Instead, we just chilled out and watched Torchwood. Mmmm...Ianto/Jack.

A friend just got me hooked on Torchwood - it's a great show.

On the fic front, I'm working on the next part of the Retriever verse now. Later, I'll work on the next Deathknell. Sadly, the Deathknell was ready, and then we realized it needed a chapter in front of it. So yay for two parts almost totally written?

While I admit Deathknell is my first love and I am eagerly awaiting the next chapter(s), the two of you have done quite a job of getting me hooked on pretty much everything you're writing right now. Thanks for thinking up all these different and wonderful stories and sharing them with us :-)

I am totally hooked on the Retriever fic. And, I am happy to hear there is new Deathknell coming.
I was going to suggest the movie Hardware (http://us.imdb.com/title/tt0099740/) for your post-apocalyptic movie theme, but it seems to be hard to find on DVD. Maybe one day you will catch it on TV. It is worth watching, imo.
Ps. I finally got up the nerve to friend you both. [livejournal.com profile] navlasha has been trying to get me to do it for a while now. So, hi!

Oh thank gods about Deathknell, because people were ASKING ME ABOUT IT at Wincon. Like "You talk to Beanside and Nilchance, right? When's the next part of Deathknell coming out??" "Um. I don't know?" "Well, you should ask them about it." "Um. Okay?" :D

[identity profile] beanside.livejournal.com 2007-10-23 07:47 pm (UTC)(link)
You sure they weren't talking about your sex pollen verse? *blush*

I'll probably put some up tomorrow or Thursday, actually.

WE WERE TALKING ABOUT YOU BEHIND YOUR BACK, BITCHEZ. WITH MUCH, DEEP, DEEP LOVE. DEAL WITH IT.

*coughs* Which is to say, yes, I am absolutely certain that we were speaking of Deathknell, as the two sound nothing alike and were written by two TOTALLY DIFFERENT SETS of wives. :D

*snerk* Just checking. Cause y'know, you're the bnf. *smirk* I just live here.

*shakes finger at you* Don't pull that BNF card on ME, missy! You and your wifeykins are JUST AS BIG Fandom H0rs as me and mine. :p

Shh! Don't say that to Jess! She likes to labor under the belief that she's still a no-name author in the corner of fandom. *nod*
