beansideTodays song of the day is Russian Woman by Manizha. Not my favorite song, but the lyrics make it so worth it. Apparently, the singer got death threats for it in Russia.
Yesterday was a productive day! We went to a tiny farmer's market. It was a little disappointing. No real produce to be had, which made me sad. I did get some mango jam and Greek olives. Then, it was off to pick up Sam's Nutrical. We've already gone through the better part of a tube, so we needed more stat. On the way there, since we were making a big loop, we stopped at a local bakery, and got way too much shit. (A butter cake, a dozen cheese danishes and a coconut custard pie.) But their stuff is so good!
Then, a stop for pit beef and turkey sandwiches, and onto the Asian market, where I got all the sauces I needed, plus some other stuff. The frozen red bean paste buns are a highlight for me. Wrap in a wet paper towel and microwave, and they come out soft and fluffy. Jess also found that they have an enormous jar of minced garlic for $4, so that will be our place to go.
We topped the day off with excellent Chinese food, and then to bed early, though sleep was elusive.
Today, work, followed by a trip to Walmart to get our grocery order. Then, I'll probably try the early bed thing again. Maybe this time it'll work.
