beansideUp early again on my day off. I can't seem to sleep past 7:30 for anything. At least it's not six, I suppose. I got a whole extra hour and a half.
I did my video interview yesterday, so we'll see how that goes. I can't help but feel that my appearance (older, fat, bad teeth) is going to disqualify me for the next step, but I did my best. I also worry that I didn't fill all the time that they gave for answering, but I'm not that good at fluffing my answer. Maybe they'll appreciate brevity. All in all, I'm a little discouraged about my chances at this point. Nothing I can do now.
The technology they used to do the interview was cool. It was an app you downloaded, and the question would appear on the screen, you'd have a minute and a half to prepare your answer, and then three minutes to answer. They asked what IKEA values resonated with me, and which I struggled with. Thank god they didn't want more than that, because damned if I could remember more than three out of the eight. At least I remembered that many. It's been a while since I had the indoctrination training, and they changed some of them about two years ago, so it was up in the air whether I'd actually remember that many.
Even though I know it may be a couple of weeks until I get an answer, I spent the day frantically checking my work email for a reply.
Last night was D&D, which was good for taking my mind off things. Our murder muppets had a duergar to interrogate! Our cleric cast Zone of Truth, and the duergar rolled abysmally low, and had to tell the truth! He practically gave them directions to the stronghold! Also, there are duergar searching all the Ten Towns for chardyalyn, so his daddy dearest can make a chardalyn dragon to wipe out the Ten Towns. The team heads for the outpost and on the way find another invisible duergar and a zombie ogre! The zombie ogre deals some damage to the fighter but is dispatched pretty quickly, and the duergar follows.
They reach the outpost, and sneak in sneakily with a levitate ability and an invisibility spell. They find another duergar who dies before they get the chance to call a warning. Next another zombie ogre who goes down like a bitch owing to bad rolls and a -1 initiative roll. Literally the entire party just beat the hell out of it while it tried to raise it's weapon. Then, the sorcerer cast fireball on five sentient fungal zombies, killing them instantly. Finally, they found the head duergar, aka the son of the Daddy dearest, who they entangled and knocked out for questioning. Two more duergar showed up and were immediately dispatched. We left the session there, having ransacked the outpost and with a prisoner in tow.
Today shall be Monster of the Week! But first, more coffee is required. Maybe also something to eat.
