Another day, another morning awake at an ungodly hour. Today, it was an odd combination of pain/weird dreams/outside noises. Fortunately,it didn't wake Jess up. A small nuke going off wouldn't wake Jess up.
I took drugs, in the hopes of actually going back to sleep at some point. Which is pretty much my mornings. I wake up at ass o'clock, then, I go back to bed at 7:30ish, and sleep til nine. Today, maybe til 10, since I've been up since 4.
I feel thoroughly unproductive and bleh. Have appt with pain management next Wednesday. I need something different than what I'm on, because this sucks. If I mainline anymore tylenol, my liver's just going to come flopping out when I cough, I swear. I don't even care. Shoot me up with more lidocane, or Botox, or whatever. I am so sick of hurting.
In cheerier news, we have a new addition. Jess co-worker's kid brought home a rat, and the co-worker freaked out. So, we has a new little rat named Mercy. She seems very sweet, despite being a petshop rat. We're hoping that we can tame her, so she'll be like the boys were.
Last night we spent carefully scooping pine shavings out of the cage, so we could put in good litter that won't make her sick. People are such dumbasses, not reading up on the animal they get. Now she has a fluffy layer of the good paper based bedding, and some tasty treats.
Once she's a little more settled in, I will take pictures for all to see.

Date: 2009-06-26 03:16 pm (UTC)*hugs you gently*
OTOH, rats! I love rats! My friend's daughter had a litter (well, the daughter didn't have a litter, her rat had one) and I confiscated one of the cute little buggers. I named him Beowulf - Wolfie for short. I loved that cute little rascal. My brother became very fond of him too.
*wails*
But they're so short lived.
*snifle*
And yes, the correct bedding is very important. The little guys are surprisingly delicate.

Date: 2009-06-28 06:14 am (UTC)And from what I know of rhuematoid arthritis, and I share an IV treatment room with sufferers of RA, it can leave you feeling like a baseball bat has worked you over.
I wish I knew the name of the new drug they get by IV because they all swear by it. One fella even insisted he would come into the city on Christmas Day so he wouldn't miss a treatment.
I go in on August 14th for treatment and I will ask the rheumatologist about it, if you'd like?
Unfortunately, my cousin who has fibromyalgia, isn't getting much help from the fibro clinic, so I'm no help there.
Wishing you and

Date: 2009-06-27 11:19 pm (UTC)My girl Mols was a petshop rat - actually one from a shop who usually sells them as feeders instead of pets. But she was the most amazing little thing. I didn't so much tame her as she tamed everyone else.

Date: 2009-06-28 06:04 am (UTC)I do so sympathize with your pain and sleeplesness. As you can see by the time and lateness of this post, the SLE has been kicking my ass this week. This is the first time I've been vertical since the hospital got at me on Wednesday morning.
I do hope the pain management works something out for you. It didn't work for me. They wanted to do surgery on the back of my head to ease the pressure and resulting headaches - but first I had to sign something saying I was willing to take the chance they might snip the wrong things and leave me paralyzed. *snort* Yeah, in the proverbial pig's eye.
But that's not very encouraging. Sorry 'bout that. I just don't want you to feel so desperate you let them pressure you into anything. Then again, you are very wise and knowledgable in the ways of doctor's, so I trust you will keep safe.
I wish I could twitch my nose or blink my eyes, like Samantha and Jeannie, and take away some of the pain. the least I can do is send all the healing vibes I can muster out your way.
Take care, sweetie.
