Hello and good morning! We’re back to our normally scheduled bullshit today, as it is sadly time to get back to real life.

I'm oddly okay with it. I went, I had an outstanding time, but as the subject line says all good things must come to an end. I've missed chatting with my friends at work, so it'll be nice to talk to them. I texted them, but that's not the same. It's difficult to send long texts. Fingers get tired after a while on the phone. I need a full sized keyboard to fully convey my feelings.

Yesterday was entirely spent relaxing and ordering food. Our refrigerator door kindly opened at some time during the week, so everything had to go. Fortunately Mounjaro is stable to 21 days without a problem, so that was fine. I need to take my shot today. I'm going to start out with the 7.5mg again, since it's been like 2 weeks without it. The door is now taped shut. It's a pain in the ass, but if it's not going to stick, it can go in the naughty corner. I'll call maintenance eventually. Maybe when Yoda's going to be in day care for a day or two. First, the fridge needs to be scrubbed off, since we've had a couple of spills.

First thing in the morning, I went to go pick up Yoda. He was very excited and yelled at me a lot. Then he cried at being put in the back seat and belted in. He wanted to be close to me, but I needed to drive, so he needed to stay where he was safe.

Then we got home for him to yell at my sister and Jess. He was very happy, but not in a desperate way. Just a "OMG, it's the humans!" way. Soon after, he settled down and was a couch potato as per usual.

Then, at noon, I went out to get my relaxing peppermint sleepy pills. We started watching a video on a cruise like ours, but gave up after a while, as none of us were able to pay attention.

In the meantime, I booked excursions for the overnight San Francisco stop. We're going to the Japanese Tea Garden and Muir Woods. I'm looking forward to both. I don't really need to see Alcatraz, I don't think. We're going to get a 2 day hop on hop off pass, and take the tour of the city, while happily hopping off to grab our dim sum in Chinatown, and whatever else looks good. We're doing a whale watching trip in Santa Barbara. Santa Barbara is a really short port, only from 8am til 2:30, so we won't have a lot of time there. Maybe just enough to wander the port area.

Our other stop in Ensenada, Mexico, I don't know enough about yet to decide what to do. None of the tours really excited us in either place, so we'll probably see about taking the shuttle to the city center and just walk around and shop.

The next cruise is 541 days away, but I'm already looking. I have a lot of research to do. We start out in San Diego, so I'm looking at hotels and things to do during our two days there before the cruise, aside from the Zoo.

This time I'll pack lighter, since I didn't wear a lot of what I took. Some leggings and shorts and t-shirts are it. Maybe one fancy dress, and a couple of skorts, and one nice blouse. We have free laundry, so iI'm not worried about running out of clothes. We didn't take the pinnacle suite this time, but we are in a Neptune suite, which is just one step down. It still comes with a lot of the perks, like the Neptune Lounge and it's two concierge and light snacks throughout the day, complimentary appetizers each night and Club Orange for breakfast and dinner.

I plan to spend more time in Club Orange this go round. The specialty dining was amazing, but having tried them, I don't necessarily need to go back. I'm curious to see what is on the menu for main dining, because the two times we went for dinner, it was amazing. The Peruvian chicken from the first night remains my single favorite food, followed quickly by the Dutch Night's Hodgepodge Klapstuck, which was like a really good pot roast with veggies and gravy.

We ended up going with the quench package, which covers all non alcoholic drinks. We'll pay for our booze, but we didn't really drink enough to make it worth the money for the signature or elite packages. I think I had one drink a day most days, and two on the day we went to Morimoto, and the day we got mimosas with breakfast. And after Morimoto, I wobbled back to my room, drunk off my ass.

We also won't get the Thermal Spa, since we hardly used it. if we want to soak, we can get a day pass. Probably no massage, to avoid the hard sell at the end for products. We just went with it, and ended up with $500 of Elemis products.

I had so much fun with the Alaskan cruise. The memories that'll stick with me are Mendenhall Glacier, which was just awe inspiringly huge and thus vertigo inducing, the whale watching tour, where we cheered for that flash of whale tail, and the little tour we did in Ketchikan. I climbed rocks to stand in front of a raging waterfall, and saw a Sitka Deer, and saw the Totem park. But aside from those, I mostly enjoyed the ship. I loved coming back to our little suite at the end of a day of adventures, and relaxing on the verandah. I loved having coffee and pastries delivered every day. And I loved being able to sit at the dining room table and have our room service foor delivered.

I'll also remember the awesome staff that made the trip even more special. Our room stewards, Yusuf and Eko who made our room tidy and neat. Cipta, the waiter who remembered us and was just as sweet and chatty and lovely as he could be. Sheryl, one of the concierges in the lounge who was always there to help, Zam, our amazing photographer for our vow renewal, who made us laugh, and took amazing pictures, managing to get shots of both of us that we liked.

And of course, Rachel, the other concierge who literally walked us through our first cruise and made sure we got the most out of it. When we'd go to the lounge for food and a cappuccino, she would insist on getting our drinks, and carrying them to the table to make it easier for my sister an I, who were both using canes. Most telling, after we'd gotten off the ship, and were no longer her problem, she ran into us off the ship while we were waiting for our ride, and stopped to check on us and make sure we were okay.

She said we were easy to deal with, and very sweet and kind. I was pleased to hear it, because I never want to make someone's job harder. I'm pretty sure we over tipped, but that's fine. I'd rather be known as someone who overtips than that bitch who takes gratuities off their bill at the end of the cruise. They work super hard and deserve whatever they can get.

I got the survey from Holland America, and wrote glowing reviews. I honestly can't think of a single thing that I would have done differently. We had such an amazing time that I've run out of superlatives.

The vow renewal was another standout. I never thought I needed a traditional wedding, but apparently, I did, because this was amazing. Captain Paul and Jayme made it a day to remember.

A few of the photos, which I do not hate how I look in.

First up, the beginning, standing before the Captain.

The vows.

The cake cutting.

One of the pictures of me that I really like.

And last, the posed kiss.

With that, I think it's time to get myself together for a fun day sorting through roughly 600+ emails. Ugh. Everyone have a terrific Tuesday!
