Discovered Tuesday that our long-absent(not long enough, dammit) mouse has returned. It announced this by scritching around in the bedroom while I was attempting to sleep. Eventually, I shoved in earplugs and dozed off, but I was a sleep deprived person on Wednesday. We've got humane traps baited with stinky cheese scattered in the bedroom now.
I cancelled my appointment with the lawyer yesterday, and switched it to next week, mainly so I have a little time to get my shit together. Also, I switched lawyers, because I didn't want to have to go downtown and park in east bumfuck. My new lawyer is in Towson, thank you very much. With the free parking, and such. *nod* Much better for me. It's also my mother and father's lawyer (they saw him on Monday, and mom is taking great glee in telling the nastier of the creditors that she's going into bankruptcy. (Capital One, especially. They totally had her in near-tears on Saturday, just badgering her to get money that she didn't have. They wouldn't even take the money she offered, just told her that if she didn't come up with more, they'd send it to a lawyer, and had the balls to tell her to borrow it from her mother, which is so fucking out of line I don't know where to begin.)
So, instead, I went to the mall and got new tennis shoes, since my old shoes were literally falling apart. I think I can justify that expense at least. Got a spiffy pair of New Balance shoes that fit very nicely, and are supportive without being clonky. Also had a nice lunch at Cracker Barrel, which we then played off at a local park.
In the evening, we had Kyan's first obedience class, which oddly, he was not allowed at. The first class was for his owners, so we'd know what we were going to do with him. Our class has dogs ranging in size from a Yorkie up to a St. Bernard that weighs 45 lbs at 10 weeks. It should be interesting. We'll see how long our holy terror takes before he gets kicked out. *grin*
So, all in all, not an overly productive day, but I'm okay with that. Productivity is overrated...well, except at work, where I'm being paid for it. *grin* Back to work for me!

Date: 2004-03-11 07:02 pm (UTC)There's a special circle of hell reserved just for these people, I'm sure. I had one call me at 8.30 in the morning on a medical bill to tell me that if I didn't pay it by ten that morning, they'd... take further legal action.
I told her that she could *try,* but since I was broke, not working, didn't have a car or own a house, she could pretty well stuff it, and I'd pay it when I could.
The trick to those fuckers is to know what they actually can and cannot do. They assume that most people don't, and so they bluff.
