So this is 52. Weird. I never really thought about reaching 50. I was a child of the 70s, so I always kind of assumed nuclear annihilation would happen first. But here we are, Gen x still standing. Go figure.
I can't say 51 was the greatest year. The beginning looked promising. We had dad in rehab, and he did pretty well. That was pretty much the high point. The rest was a long slow slide downhill.
And here we are, getting ready to start life over again in three short weeks as apartment dwellers. 52 is going to be interesting if nothing else.
I called the nice people at the apartments to ask a few questions. We can do a walkthrough starting on 12/26. So possibly on the weekend, during the day, we can go over and see the apartment and take some measurements, so I can start planning. We'll pick up the key on 12/31, and start moving shit in. Verizon will install our internet, and at some point our couches will be dropped off.
Today will be a busy day. I've got a doctor's appointment at 8:30am, then I'm going to get bloodwork done like a grown up. Then, I'll be going to get my cupcakes from Flavor. They have a seasonal gingerbread cupcake that sounds amazing. Then, it'll be back to put the ribs in the slow cooker for dinner and a little time to relax. Then, I'll take Jess to acupuncture and stop at whole foods on the way home. At some point int here, I'll probably have to eat something, so we'll figure that out. Flavor has coffee, so I'll definitely be hitting that up.
Then, tomorrow, it's back to work for the rest of the busy week. But for today, I'm going to enjoy the amazing weather (it's going to be 60 degrees!!) and do my things.
Time for me to go grab a shower and maybe put on some pants. Doctors like that sort of thing, right? Everyone have a most excellent Tuesday!
