Had a good/pretty good weekend. Didn't do much, though we did drive around randomly on Saturday because I was pissy and wanted to do something. Mind you, I had absolutely no clue what the fuck I wanted to do, but dammit, I wanted to be a human again!
Ended up not doing a whole fuckload, but it was enjoyable. We walked around the Super Walmart, and got t-shirts. *nod* And Jess got a fan for work!
Sunday, we had a beagle show up on our back porch, all skinny and skittish. We haven't caught him/her yet, but we will. It's already been given a name. "Ollie" which is Olaf or Olive. *nod*
Sunday was mostly a wash. I was sore and cranky, Jess was sore and cranky, and it was a blerg day.
We did however, see two dvds. Alien Vs Predator Requiem was the first. Good on gore and "ew" factor, but not much else. Even the lead characters were so stupid I wanted to bitch slap them. Also, the ending? Could they have raped Resident Evil Apocalypse any harder? Jesus. I was waiting for the chick to inform us that her name was Alice, and she remembered everything.
Second was Cloverfield. Goddamn, I'm glad I didn't see it in the theater. I would have never recovered from the migraine it would have caused. All in all, I liked the movie, but I never need to see it again. The creature was cool, it played hardball, but it never really hit the next level for me.
Next up, Iron Man! I am so thoroughly psyched for this movie. I need it to be good. I need it to be fun. I'll see Batman for the angst, thank you. I want my Marvel movies to kick ass and make me smile.
Oooh, also on Cloverfield, one of the previews for Indiana Jones. SO awesome. Cannot wait to see it. But I have to get the first three movies out, as I discovered that my wife as NEVER SEEN THEM all the way through. She had a sheltered life. *nod*

Date: 2008-04-28 01:12 pm (UTC)I have to admit a certain amount of geekery for Iron Man. The Husband is kind of meh on it, but really, he's so wrapped up in waiting for The Dark Knight that he doesn't have the capacity to geek over anything else.
She's never seen them all the way through? I just... I can't imagine.

Date: 2008-04-28 01:21 pm (UTC)I was semi-looking forward to Iron Man, but then I saw some of the promos, and it really looks cool. Plus, it'll be the first time we've been to the theaters since Sweeney Todd. I need a good movie, dammit!
I know! She's so deprived!

Date: 2008-04-28 01:31 pm (UTC)I think it's just a bad time of year for movies. There's not much worth spending $10 on right now. But I know that once Memorial Day hits, and all the "summer blockbusters" start, we'll be at the movies almost every Friday night.

Date: 2008-04-28 01:40 pm (UTC)The problem for us is that there's a pretty good chance that any movies is going to trigger one or both of us to have a migraine from hell. Something about the movement and flashing lights, I think. So we have to really think about it before we go to a movie.
The formula is: Likely entertainment value/migraine potential x cash layout/potential to suck in a bad way= Yes/no.

Date: 2008-04-28 05:22 pm (UTC)Good luck with Ollie! Oh and apparently I should be kicked out of geekdom because I didn't realize there was a new Indiana Jones movie coming out. I want to see it NOW!
