beansideAm feeling a bit better today. Had a discussion with mom, explained that it wasn't only the birthday that had me upset, was just ongoing stress that had me primed for any little thing to set me off. Also explained that I'm tired of getting caught in the Christmas rush, and feeling like I get the brush off for the birthday thing because everyone is so involved with their own things. Also, reinterated that I really don't love ice cream cake, just the chocolate crunchies in the middle. I think she understands, though who knows?
Have started work on one of the two original fics again. I'd like to work on it more this year since I think it's a good story, nothing horribly original, just my take on an old theme. It's at 27 pages so far, with plans to extend that to around 200-300.
We shall see. For tonight, at least, we're going to take it easy. Tomorrow, we'll start working on the last bits of Yule that we need to get together.
