beansideOkay, so it's not a manic Monday, but today's still going to be pretty full. Woke up at 6 for no good reason, so I went ahead and got up. Now I'm waiting out my Rybelsus, so I can have some coffee.
Yesterday decided to be a randomly stressful day, which was annoying. First, I was still sore from falling down the stairs, so I was kind of stuck inside most of the day. The hospital called about discharge, but then the rehab called and said that Medicare wasn't allowing them to bill, so we hung in limbo for several hours while we waited to see if they could sort the insurance out, suddenly terrified that they weren't going to be able to get him in somewhere, and he was going to have to come home.
Fortunately, around 2:30, they finally figured it all out, and they told us he'd be on his way to the rehab around 5. Jess went over for a while to visit before he was moved, and I'll visit today. When I called at around 7, he had yet to make it to the rehab, so I'll be going a little later this afternoon, to let him get settled in.
It's a busy day for me today. I have to drop Yoda off for grooming at 9am, then I come home in time for our 9:30am game. Once that's done, I'll pick up the now peeled dog, and head home. I'll catch my breath for a moment, and maybe eat a little something, and then it'll be off to visit with Dad for a while, and find out what we need to bring for his stay at the rehab.
We finally got him in the rehab we've been trying to for the last year. It's got a really good reputation, and good reviews on Google, so I'm hoping that they live up to the reviews. Honestly, if they're competent and kind, I'll take it. The couple of times we've called, they've been very nice, so hopefully that'll continue. If nothing else, if they can get him to transfer, I can slap a coat on him and take him outside, because this place is gorgeous. It's owned by the Freemasons, and is set in an honest to goodness castle set above Hunt Valley, MD. I think they just started taking the general population about a decade ago. Now I just need him to try really hard, which has been a problem in the past.
Then, I'll come home and possibly take a nap for an hour before we have second game in the evening. Fortunately, we're ordering dinner, so I don't have to worry about that as well.
With a little luck, Dad's in a good mood, and I traffic isn't bad. Maybe I'll stop and get him a hot cocoa at Starbucks drive thru on the way. He might enjoy that.
Tomorrow is a game day, withpoisontaster running a winter themed game at 3. It's just a holiday game weekend. For us, I don't know how long dad will be in rehab, so I'm going to have as many games at weird times as I humanly can.
Okay, I'm going to hop off now and get some more coffee, and maybe consider the merits of clothes. Everyone have a wonderful Friday!
