I don't normally stay up that late, so I stumbled over this a couple of days after it aired, and knew I had to use it. i love Miley Cyrus' voice, and I truly appreciated the updated version of Santa Baby. All in all, it seemed like the perfect option for Christmas Eve.
And wow, it's Christmas Eve. This year has pretty much blown by for me. It's hard to believe that our Disney trip was this year, but it was just 10 months ago. So much has changed since then. We had the 6 month odyssey of dad being in and out of the hospital and rehab centers, and then the six months of him being bedbound and dancing attendance on him. Igot passed over for one too many promotions, quit my job, got fired from my new job and am finishing out the year unemployed. Hopefully that will change quickly, but it's still a little bit scary.
I've put out at least 200 resumes, so hopefully after the holidays they start paying off. I've only gotten four turndowns so far, so I'll continue to hope, and keep applying.
Dad being in the hospital has only really screwed up a few of our plans for the holiday. We'll probably hold off on gift giving until he's feeling better, because right now, he isn't staying awake for any length of time. I'll go over late this morning, and spend some time, my sister will go over to the brother in law's house for Christmas Eve dinner and Jess and I will play a D&D game. At some point in there, I'll wrap (bag up) my sister's presents and maybe swing by Honeybaked Ham and get some cheddar ham buiscuits for breakfast. Christmas morning, we'll get up and have breakfast and coffee and exchange presents. Then my sister will go visit her inlaw for a little while, then we'll have our prime rib dinner early in the afternoon. At some point in there, we'll visit dad, and maybe take him a slice of pumpkin pie. Then, I'll run a game in the evening for the others who finish up Christmas early.
I feel horrible for him, but my god, it's so much easier with him in the hospital. Even coordinating visits is easier. He's a lot of work. I'm really hoping that we can get him into a rehab, and that he'll improve a little. Even a little bit would help.
Everyone have a holly jolly Christmas Eve!
