I slept til 8:30! That's so unusual for me! It was nice to sleep in for a change, and I definitely deserved it after this week. I'm thinking tomorrow, since I took off for Jess' birthday, I may attempt 8am again!
Yesterday was a mostly quiet day. I finished Legends and Lattes, which I liked very much. I don't know if my guess that having a bigger screen would make it easier to read was true, or if it's helpful to have a device that's just for reading is doing it. On my phone, it's too easy to pop over to other apps, but on the kindle, I'd have to close it, put it down and reach for the phone, so there's less mindless flipping. Could be a combination of all of that, but it seems to be working so far.
I went to visit dad, who seemed much improved. He was still a touch confused, telling me about how they took him to a little apartment the night before, but overall better. He was able to hold a conversation and help when they needed to change the pads under him, so I was pleased. Better yet, he actually ate some, and indicated some things that he'd like to eat, which is helpful. They'd put a chocolate High protein Ensure on his tray, and he really liked that, so we'll be getting some of those.
The labs are slowly improving, and the doctor seemed like they could discharge as soon as tomorrow. We're kind of hoping it won't be until Monday, but we'll see. The social worker seemed to think it might be then, so hopefully she's correct. The hospital is going to get us set up with someone from the county so that we can get more help, which would be lovely. I would really appreciate someone who would know the ins and outs of what is available for elder care.
After I got home from the hospital, I spent the next few hours writing my games for that evening and this afternoon. It was a bit chaotic, as I was going from creepy vampires to MotW. Very different themes and tones. The MotW game this week takes place at a fandom con for the in universe TV show "Paranormal," so that should be fun.
Then we had our Call of Cthulhu game that I spent the afternoon writing. I think it went pretty well. I really didn't expect to enjoy the system as much as I do. It's really good though. Easy, with good advancement mechanics.
Today is a busy day with two games! MotW at 12 and D&D at 4. Then bedtime soon after, lol. I can handle three games in a weekend, so nothing on Sunday.
Okay, time for me to go get myself together and maybe actually look at the module I'm running at 4pm. Have a perfectly lovely Saturday!
