beansideMonday has arrived, as Mondays will. I didn't sleep great last night. I fell asleep great, but had a hard time staying asleep for more than 2-3 hours at a clip. Then, I'd wake up, be awake for 30-45 min, then go back to sleep. I didn't get horrible sleep, just not all in one shot, which was annoying.
Work yesterday was yet again mopping up other people's mistakes day. I did my markets which weren't bad. Then, I went to pending returns to find that a lot of specialists had made massive errors (which I fixed). In the meantime, I've got my friend in casework bitching about the stuff they're erroneously putting in the casework queue, and some of the specialists messaging me about cases they don't understand.
One finally made me blow my top (message my manager). The one dept and I have been in a battle over pickups in our Buffalo/Syracuse market. They do it one way (the wrong way.) and I have to go in and fix it. One of the specialists came to me not sure what to do with a case, because I fixed it, and the motherfuckers cancelled the pickup order I made, despite me making careful notes. And then, the asshole case-errored me! I called my manager all pissed off, because I communicated the change in procedure back in October. He settled me down, and had me write the new procedure out. He posted it in their chat, so I'm sure he's going to get pushback.
The nice thing is that once I finished work, I was able to work on games. My MotW game is now planned out til the end of this arc, and I have an idea for the next arc as well. Poor Jess had to listen to me talking to myself, and going "no, that's not the version I want. Maybe it was the King James version? Yeeees. That's it." And "Oh hey, I thought he was just in Jacqueline Carrey books. Sweet.)
Mind you, I'm working on a game that doesn't reoccur for 26 days, but that's okay. Gotta take inspiration where you can find it, especially for the ones I homebrew.
Work is likely to be boring, so I'll probably continue working on it through the day.
Okay, time for me to go forth and put on clothes and finish this cup of coffee. Everyone have the best Monday!
