beanside...we're back to another Monday. Ew. The days seem to be flying by lately. I guess that's the way summer works, huh?
Had a good weekend, though we didn't do all that much. On Saturday, after I'd written a particularly violent, disturbing and gory scene, we hit Steak and Ale. For some reason, after I write blood and guts I always want red meat. It happens when I watch a gory movie too. We went to see Red Dragon when it came out, and promptly hit Applebees for steak. Go figure.
Then, it was off to the movies to see the very hot Angelina Jolie in Tomb Raider. Cheesy as fuck movie, but fun, none the less. Enjoyed myself immensely, and had an idea for a Pirates of the Caribbean Very Secret Diary en route to the theater. Afterwards, we hit A&W/KFC for a root beer float, and headed home for our turn of Grandmom sitting. Watched 48 hours with her, and relaxed. Was a nice change.
Sunday, Jess had to work, so I mostly played online, and re-read some of "The Order of the Phoenix." Love that book. Had a relaxing time until after taking Jess lunch, at which point, I fired up the grill and grilled a turkey breast and some corn for dinner. Added in some saffron rice, and salad, and had a lovely dinner. I'm coming to the realization that I actually like to cook for people. Probably should have been a chef, but I don't think I cook the fancy kind of food they'd teach. Oh well.
After dinner, we chilled out, enjoyed some quality time, which was nice. Today, it's back to the grind, but on the plus side, I have a yummy turkey sandwich.
