And today it is back to work. Coworker J is off today, so I'll be doing all the markets, so I'll at least have something to do. Later in the day, I may end up working part time in casework, as they're making a serious push to bring that queue down. Part of me is wondering if this is the first step to putting us back on the phones, but I don't know. I guess we'll eventually find out?
We're having a big thing on Thursday for the official "go-live" of the new bullshit name of the center, complete with ribbon cutting, lunch and hot coccoa bar. Whoo. A raise would be better. At some point, I need to record my part for the ribbon cutting ceremony. We're doing our coworker of the year in a recorded package, and I'm doing the recording. Presumably they'll hit me up Monday to set up a session. Since I'm in the office on Thursday, I'm definitely going to avail myself of anything they have, in lieu of aforementioned raise.
I spent a good chunk of yesterday with a nasty headache. It came on stronger the longer I was upright, until I went back to bed for an hour. Then a hot shower and advil got me to the point that I was able to DM for our Waterdeep: Dragon Heist game. I think it went pretty well, even if a chunk of it was side quests. Next time, we'll consider getting to the actual plot. To be fair, the chapter we were on was very much the fuck around chapter of the game. The finding out doesn't happen until the next part.
We were considering the movies after game, but Glass Onion was all but sold out, and we weren't that big on a packed theater. So, I guess I'll be waiting until December 23 to see it on Netflix. It turned out to be a good thing, since as the evening crept in, the headache came roaring back. I went to bed early and relaxed in the dark and quiet for a while, which helped.
After work today, we have the Lost Mine game, which I'm looking forward to. I know scheduling the next one is going to be a bitch due to holidays. Then, next month, it's going to be a bitch because of our vacation. Unlike the last vacation where we could play while we were there, we have a single room this time, plus a not-exactly set schedule. Plus, from what I understand, Disney's wifi is notoriously spotty, so that'll be two full weekends that we're doing no games, which will be sad.
I tried to watch Black Adam on the pirate site, since it's now in HD with captions. It's just...not great. The bright spots are Aldis Hodge's Hawkeye and Pierce Brosnan's Dr. Fate. The rest...meh. I'll probably finish it, but it definitely is not my favorite superhero movie.
I'm going to be interested to see what the new heads of DC films are going to do with it. I was never as big a DC fan as I was Marvel, but I still want them to do well and make enjoyable shit for me to watch. Hopefully, they veer a little away from the overwrought Justice League and lean more into a little more fun. So far, my favorite DC movie was the last Suicide Squad, which actually made me give a shit about the characters. I'd love to see a new Superman, that actually has some color to it. I'd like it to still be Henry Cavill, just less grimdark.
I continue to spend my time wandering through reviews on youtube. I've moved on from California grill, which I have deemed as acceptable for our fancy dress dinner, to Ohana, which is our Resort Day splurge. (okay, unless the Grand Floridian cafe opens, in which case we're also going for afternoon tea.) Next up checking out the reviews for Sanaa, which is our lunch on the day we go to Animal Kingdom. Then, I have no idea what I'm going to start watching. I guess it'll be back to general park videos.
