It's finally Friday! I survived the work week! Now, on to a D&D filled weekend. I am going to be spending the majority of my day trying to prep for the whole weekend. The big one I need to consider is Monster of the Week on Sunday. There are so, so many plot lines that I could throw at them, and I kind of need to winnow that down to one cohesive story. So what shall it be? Complications from deals with demons coming back to haunt them? The Summer and Winter Courts of Faerie? The outing of the supernatural to humanity? The evil monster hunting group? The personal outing of them as heroes on TikTok? So many choices, and all tabs that the hunters will eventually have to pay. I'm sure I'm missing some there as well.

Tonight's game, on the other hand is Curse of Strahd. All my little goth disaster babies, ready for trauma. I need to reread the parts of the module we're likely to get to, and make sure I have a hand on the plot. The downside to doing some of these games a month apart is that it makes it very difficult to remember what you did last time. Something, something hags, I believe.

Tomorrow is Lost Mind of Phandelver, which is another once a month game. We've had some scheduling difficulties, so it's been a couple of months on this one, so I'll be re-reading it, as well. Fortunately, that's more of babies first module, so it's a little easier to pick up and put down for me. I'm sure everyone will be scrambling to remember who their characters are.

Yesterday was incredibly boring. I did my work in the first hour, then kindly agreed to do the inbox for the morning, because the person who normally does it doesn't come in til 1pm, and her backup was out. That took me all of half an hour to clear out. Then, I just kind of sat there, riding herd on it.

Then, of course, we had a team meeting, which was dull as hell. It was all housekeeping shit, and really could have been an email. I suppose for some people the question and answer bit about the bullshit arbitration clause IKEA is adding to our employment was helpful for some people, but that's just because they're too lazy to do their own reading.

I got singled out and thanked not once but twice for going above and beyond, so that was kind of nice. I worry that it's going to make people resentful, though.

The tail end of the day, I spent more time just sitting around chatting with J than actually doing anything. All in all, a waste of my time. At least at home, I could have been doing other shit, and getting the occasional cuddle from Jess and the dog and cat.

Okay, gonna go get some more coffee and try to wake up. Everyone have a wonderful Friday!

enjoy your D&D weekend! sounds more fun than work, for sure

you've got lots of good options for Sunday, but I immediately latched onto the Summer and Winter Courts - not sure why, but that's something I always love exploring
