Mondays are the Monday-est day of all. I've been awake since 5, but I refused to get up until my alarm went off at 6 to get up. For whatever reason, I had a night of broken sleep. It was annoying. I didn't really need to wake up at 12, 2 and 3, but alas. Oh well. Maybe tonight will be better.

Yesterday was another busy day of delivery updates. I came in to almost 300 left over from Saturday due to a computer glitch at one of our warehouses. Still, I was able to get them done, and was in good shape by the time the 4pm run came in. There may be some left over from that, but it shouldn't be too bad for M when she comes back in today. Tomorrow, J comes back and that will make me much happier. I've missed having someone to chat with. It's been too quiet.

We had our Witchlight game last night. No recap because it's still a relatively new game, but I believe we're getting close to the end. The players actually had the chance to end it, but passed it up to go for complete map coverage. But at the rate they're going, I'm thinking it's going to be one, maybe two sessions. I originally thought it was going to be more, but they're blazing through the palace at a fast clip. The pacifist run has really sped the game up, because combat just takes longer.

Some of my players are missing the combat, I think. Hell, I'm kind of missing the combat. It's been such a different game experience than Frostmaiden or any of the others. Not as much space between the quests to put my own stamp on it. For me, the plot's a little too linear. I really prefer sandbox games, where the players get plot hooks dropped, and can decide which ones to take.

I think really, I prefer homebrewing content. Frostmaiden is probably 70/30 in favor of me doing whatever the fuck strikes my fancy, and MotW is now 100% homebrew. Turns out, my greatest joy is stacking the deck with powerful enemies and seeing where the players go with that. Apparently, the answer is bonkers places. In MotW, I get questions like "Do I have a contact that can get me explosives?" and in Frostmaiden, I've made more character sheets for shiny new NPCs than I can count.
(I made two more on Saturday, so there is more fuckery to come.)

Now I just need to start prepping for the game with Jess' friends. It's going to be strange to have a game with only three players! I'll have to watch myself on what I throw at them! I'm used to scaling encounters for enormous groups.

Since the second half of August is a little difficult for scheduling because of vacations, we're going to try to play Frostmaiden on a Wednesday or two. We're waiting for confirmation, but we may be playing as soon as this Wednesday! I have a couple of maps I need to upload, but aside from that, not a whole lot I need to do.

Okay, going to go forth and get dressed and maybe get more coffee. Have the best Monday you can have!
