And that quickly, it's back to Sunday.  At least it's a short week.  I go in late to work tomorrow, since I have my psych appointment and then I'm off Thursday to start our vacation.  It's still going to feel like a long week leading up to the much awaited vacation.  Of course, I realized I'm on our project queue today, which I hate, so that'll be fun.  And then I'm the backup on the inbox on Wednesday, so by the time Thursday rolls around, I'll be doubly ready for vacation.  Oh goodie.

Yesterday was as planned, pretty chill.  We did go to the dispensary so Jess could grab a pack of gummies.  That was the extent of our outside time for the day.  Jess has been having pelvic/stomach pain, and I've just been generally achy for the last week, so ambitious, we are not.  We ordered lunch and dinner via Doordash, so it was all people bringing us stuff.

Lunch was from Wow Bao.  It was okay, but nothing that knocked my socks off.  The chicken teriyaki bao was pretty good, and I liked the coconut cream ones as well, but the fried gyoza and pork bao were just okay.    Jess still has a couple of bao to try, so maybe the spicy mongolian beef will be a standout.

Dinner on the other hand was delicious, as we ordered from a Canadian themed restaurant called Clark Burger.  I had their Wake and Bacon burger, which comes with bacon, cheese and a fried egg.  I also ordered a small poutine, which had delicious, salty cheese curds and tasty gravy.  The burger was amazing, even if I ended up with egg yolk down my shirt.  (I didn't even care a bit.)  I will hardly ever get a burger, but it just sounded really good last night.

Then, it was time for our Masks game.  We opened on our heroes being grudgingly rewarded by the mayor.  They all received some money and a scholarship to the local prestigious school for heroes.  They started their day out, and were immediately thrust into gym class, where they all did fairly well.  Then, it was time to patrol with their shiny new mentor, the Chastiser.

This...did not go well, as the Chastiser is more of a "kill them all, let god sort them out" type of hero.  It did not set well with our teenage heroes, who spent as much time during the initial battle trying to keep their mentor from straight up clubbing frozen people with an enormous mace.

Fortunately, another alert came in, and the Chastiser went to answer it, leaving our heroes to wait for the police to arrive to hand the two warring gangs off.

When they arrived at the museum, they found the Chastiser unconscious on the lawn and two villains plundering ancient artifacts.  They moved in, and got things under control, even though a third combatant showed up.  They quickly realized that this was a distraction, and after subduing everyone, moved to the stock exchange where the real heist was taking place.

They fought their way through a line of zombies and skeletons to snatch the amulet from the necromancer, and moved inside to take care of the three villains therein.  For once the rolls went their way and the fight was over all too quickly.  They realized that all the villains they were fighting tonight were about their age...possibly from their own school.  Since they should have all been out with their hero patrolling at the time, this was worrying.  Was someone trying to poison young minds?  Are their mentors corrupt?  Is someone using them to discredit Superheroes?  We wrapped there, and will find out next time!

Okay, time for me to start getting myself ready for work.  Everyone have a good Sunday!
