beansideIt's finally Thursday! And my early day! (Okay, only half an hour, but still.) It should be a much quieter day today. Yesterday was very busy between doing the inbox, a surprise training, and my one on one.
The inbox was not surprisingly a giant mess when I got in. 101 emails. I know we were having problems with our systems the day before, but that's still insane. It took me two hours to get them under control. My inbox partner didn't get in til 10, so I was soloing. Fortunately, the system behaved until about 12pm, so I was able to get the inbox cleared before the daily issues cropped up. Despite the issues, we were able to keep it clear until I left at 4:30.
The training was a surprise. We got word at about 9:00 that we'd have training at 11:30, which pushed my one on one til 1. It was scheduled for 45 min, took all of 20. It's the new process that we're getting assigned. It's stupidly easy, and really just stupid. Instead of doing research to see why the order failed, we're just rescheduling. This means the transport companies get a free pass to fuck up orders. I dislike it, but I will do it as commanded.
The one on one was a little bit of a clusterfuck, as my manager rescheduled it, and promptly forgot. I went into the teams room at 1, and four minutes later, she finally showed up, calling me from the drivethru where she'd gone to get lunch. She called me back 25 minutes later, and we had a fairly nice meeting. We discussed our team's tendency to complain and derail discussions, especially during team meetings. She agreed that she needed to do better with that.
There really wasn't any feedback about the job I'm doing, which was fine. I know I do my job well. If there's a question or a problem, she can bring it to me and I'll course correct, but I've been doing it long enough to know my shit.
We had our GoodChop ribeyes last night, and god they're good. So tender and tasty. I continue to be happy with our meat from them. Tonight shall be their baby back ribs for the first time.
Today, I have nothing scheduled, so I'll do my markets from yesterday in the morning, and spend the rest of the day doing not a whole lot. Once the new project is live, hopefully this will change. I don't enjoy being bored or refreshing Twitter and Facebook all day.
