I actually slept pretty well last night, but I'm still a little tired today. Not as bad as yesterday, though. Oh well, judicious application of coffee should help.
Our markets came in late again yesterday, so I will have some stuff to do in the morning. It won't last long, but it'll be nice while it does. Then, I have a Equality, Diversity & Inclusion meeting in the afternoon, so at least the monotony will be broken up a touch. Fortunately, thanks to Omnicron, they changed our meeting from in person to a virtual, so I appreciate that. Didn't really feel like going into the office. I can hope that we stay virtual for next month, too, but they're really pushing for meetings to be in person.
I'm going through the different language apps to see which one would be best for me. So far, I'm not horribly impressed with Rosetta stone. Duolingo is good, but I found myself getting frustrated with the free app. I may try that a little more, just to see if I can get used to it. Pimseur has a 7 day free trial, so that may be the next one I try. I just want a combination of visual and audio learning. It doesn't help me to just speak the language--I need to be able to read it, as well. So far the one I've liked best is Babbel, which is what we were using previously. The problem with it, is that it only really goes up to intermediate level for Swedish. So even if we use it, it's not going to get us anywhere near fluent. There's a few other options that I'm going to look into as well, smaller sites that might have a little more content. Swedish just isn't a language people try to learn, apparently. Those people don't work for IKEA, though.
Today is supposed to be a little warmer, so maybe I'll bake some cinnamon muffins so Dad will stop being whiny. Jess found out that there's a thing where as you age, you can only really taste sweet and salty, so you crave those things. It makes sense, since his world revolves around his treats. It's damned inconvenient for the rest of us, though.
We went back to Baba's Halal last night for dinner. I've mentioned that if we want to use the oven or fry pan, we have to turn off the one heater, and it was too fucking cold for that, so I made a executive decision and went and picked up dinner. Fortunately, the mall parking wasn't bad, and I was able to get in and out pretty easily. I forget how much DoorDash marks up prices. It was SO much cheaper to go there. For Door Dash, the order would have been $74 with tip and delivery, and to get it myself was $37.
Okay, time to start getting myself ready for work. Everyone have a lovely Wednesday.
