beansideI blame Jess, but I have had this song stuck in my head for days now. And while I like the song, I do not need to be humming Bo Burnham during my merit increase meeting.
Yesterday went pretty well with the updates until the 4pm run. We had some left over from the day before, but my manager got me enough people to work them. Then, the 4pm run just overwhelmed me, and I'll be starting about 300 in the hole this morning. Hopefully, I get enough people to help dig us out, because that's a lot. The weather in the Pacific NW is really fucking up our shipping, and all those trailers need to be rescheduled. It's not great. Not looking forward to it.
As I mentioned earlier, I did have my Merit Increase/talent review meeting yesterday. I'm getting a 4% raise, which I'm okay with. I'd like more, but it's more than most people are getting. My talent review went well. My manager rated me at the highest tier, and inadvertently showed me a lot of other people's stuff which was at the mid-tier, so I felt a little good about that.
I woke up early this morning, and was ready to get up, but I forced myself to stay in bed until my alarm went off. I've got a routine and getting up early messes it up. I'm nothing if not a creature of habit. Even on my off days, I stick with my routine, albeit sometimes a little later (on the days body and brain cooperate).
I found out yesterday that we're getting a new Eggspectation within 10 minutes of us. This is very exciting as both of the ones we have in our area are on the other side of town. We only make it once in a blue moon, so this will be very nice. Even if it's just to get carryout, it'll be nice. They have really good food. I'm a big fan of their corned beef hash. It probably won't open for a while, but it's something to look forward to.
Okay, time to go get more coffee and consider getting myself together. Have a good Tuesday everyone!
