beansideIt's Monday! Sure to be a boring day, since the markets will come in late. Though apparently, I'm going to be having a meeting to go over my start up talk for the coming year. It's just a quick meeting to go over my professional goals for the year, and where I'd like my focus to be.
So, that'll at least break up the day somewhat, whenever it takes place. It meant that yesterday, my last hour was filled with coming up with three bullshit goals for the year, in preparation for today's meeting. We'd been warned a couple of weeks ago that we needed to come up with goals, so it was mostly refining the goals that I'd come up with back then. Hard to properly word the goals and come up with ways to measure them.
Yesterday, I got my markets done early, and spent the rest of the day just kind of putzing around. It was long and boring, and it's the reason Sundays kind of suck. It boils down to just not being enough work to go around most days. I worked in the inbox a little bit, but there wasn't even a ton in there.
For the evening, we used our new toaster oven to make a pork loin and roasted asparagus. It took a little longer than expected, but it made a lovely meal. I'm really enjoying having an oven again. It makes things so much easier. Today, we're going to make Dad some cornbread, which he loves. It should be something he'll eat, at least. I'm debating on what to do with the chicken tenders tonight. Do I bake or fry? The hard questions. I'm tempted to bread them in Italian breadcrumbs and bake them. We'll have to see how I feel when I get off work, I guess. Or, I was looking at a bourbon chicken recipe, but that would mean more work.
I got cards fromkillerweasel and dine, which was lovely. Always nice to get mail that isn't a bill. I think I'm going to try to write out some cards today. I still need to get some stamps, but I can do that on Friday. Hopefully, the cards will still get there in time. Last year, I did cards for all my work people, but I don't know if I'll do that this year. I'm not sure whether it's the done thing to use last year's list of addresses again. I may just put in chat that I'm doing cards if anyone is interested. That might be the better option.
Okay, time to get ready for work. More coffee is necessary. Everyone have the best Monday possible!
