Good morning on this lovely Saturday! It'll most likely be another quiet day here in casa beanside. I have no plans except for Monster of the Week at 4. It's the second half of the game we started many weeks ago, so I don't know how long that'll go for. I need to go back and re-read my notes so I remember what the fuck his happening. Good thing I always put it here, so I have a handy reference guide.
Yesterday was mostly quiet. Watched GBBO, watched most of Shang Chi. I swear, the world was conspiring to keep us from watching that movie. We finally sat down to watch, and either the dog had to go out, or Dad got talky. It just wasn't happening. We managed to get through most of it, but during the climactic fight, dinner arrived via grubhub, and that was it for the night. Maybe we'll get to watch the rest today. So far it's been enjoyable.
I'm still cranky that Marvel has decided to only release new movies in theaters. Okay, so Spider-man was my favorite superhero as a kid. There's a picture of me with him when I was about 5 when they had a guy in a Spidey suit at a toy store opening. And, add to that, the new movie comes out on my goddamn birthday. But, Covid. (Yes, I'm going to whine about this forever.) I would totally pay the $30 to see if opening day on Disney+.
I think we've figured out Christmas dinner. It appears that Cracker Barrel is doing prime rib for Christmas. We'd planned on getting smoked prime rib from Mission BBQ, but it would be more expensive, and it doesn't come with sides. The CB might be a little bit smaller size, but it comes with mashed potatoes and two sides, which is kind of idea. Since Christmas is on a weekend, I will have off on Christmas Eve, so it's no problem to trot up to the Pennsylvania CB, which has the best food of all the local CB.
Thanksgiving is also Cracker Barrel, this time their family feast, which is way too much food for four people (since it's supposed to feed 8-10). But we freeze the second turkey breast, and have a couple of days of leftovers. I'm a big fan of turkey sandwiches, so it's all good.
Okay, time to go forth and have more coffee. The cats are already being obnoxious, so I'm going to need the caffeine to deal with it. Have a good Saturday, y'all.
