It's Friday! And for whatever reason, sleeping in was just not going to happen. I tried. Jess got up, and I laid there for a little while, but it just was not going to happen. So, I dragged myself out of bed and am ready for the day. (Not really, but it's nice to dream.)
Today we shall watch Bake Off and Shang Chi, and it shall be a good quiet day. Tomorrow is Monster of the Week, and that shall be a good day, too.
The internet continues to be strong. I've been pretty impressed with T-Mobile so far. I mean, I've been a customer for well over a decade now, so I obviously like the product. Still, I wasn't sure how the home internet was going to do. But all in all, I've been pretty happy with it. I'm even more happy to get rid of Comcast's high bills. If I can get everything we've been getting for $120 instead of $246? I definitely will.
We had a team meeting at work yesterday at 3:00, and of course, my other meeting got scheduled for 3:30. So I had to dip out of the meeting early to be told "Here's why you were inadequate for the job." TBH, I wasn't looking forward to either meeting. The only consolation was that at least this time, I was scheduled for an online meeting with the manager, so I didn't have to go in the office.
The team meeting was, like most team meetings, painful. People apparently are doing what they're supposed to in regards to punching in and it's about to be a problem as they're going to start auditing them more intensely. (We punch in via the Kronos website, and you're supposed to punch in real time. People were just putting in all their punches at the end of the day, which is a no no.)
They confirmed the bonus, though we still have no clue how much it'll be. It seems like it's calculated off my fiscal year salary, which I am not really sure of because our paychecks go for the calendar year. I could go in and add up every weeks salary, but honestly, I'm not that curious. I'll probably find out the Tuesday before Thanksgiving, which is when we can view our checks for the week. Until then, I'll just speculate randomly. Whatever it is, the taxes are murder. 22% off the top, according to TurboTax.
The second meeting was pretty much what I expected it to be. I didn't get the job, not enough experience in sales, not enough leadership experience. Thankfully, it was brief. He had a few suggestions on how to get what I needed, and suggested applying for a frontline manager job, which basically has less qualifications. Unfortunately, our job ads are not the clearest, because I thought that was what I had applied to. So, I'm just going to keep keeping on. Not a whole lot else I can do.
Okay, time for more coffee and to start this quiet rainy day.
