Today's gotta be a better day, right?
Yesterday can be described with a resounding "Meh."
I got my ass up early, dressed all professional and dragged my carcass into the office for my meeting. One of my markets didn't come in, so I had absolutely fuck all to do. Which looks awesome when you're in the office with all the managers. I ended up doing some basic busywork that was almost more boring than doing nothing, but at least made it look like I was busy. Then, around 10:30, for a meeting at 11, the manager messaged me that he wasn't feeling well and would need to reschedule. WTF? You couldn't have sent me a message before I bothered to come in? I checked my email for fuck's sake.
So, presumably I'll have to go in another day for this shit. Unless he decides to throw me a bone and make it a Teams meeting, but I somehow doubt it.
The two redeeming factors of the morning were that it was a half day, and the Starbuck's peppermint mocha I got in the morning.
The afternoon involved taking Dad to the doctor. He was such a total butt. About the only thing he didn't complain about was my driving and the car. The wheelchair (because it's a large office building and I tried to save him some walking) was uncomfortable, so he spent the entire visit squirming. The doctor was running late. He was full of cursing for no apparent reason. I had to shush him after he dropped the F bomb in the exam room (before the doctor came in thankfully). We did talk to the doctor about raising his anti depressant, because he's been more anxious (which is making him more of a butt.) By the time we got home, I had a major headache and was ready to commit patricide.
The lone bright spot was that we did find out that we're getting the bonus, but we don't yet know how much or when. My manager was in the Comcast outage, so we're hoping to get more information today if things are back up. I don't blame him for not wanting to type it out on his phone.
Today is going to be better though. I'm back at home in my comfy clothes, my markets probably came in after I left, so I'll have that to do. And hopefully, I'll find out that the bonus will be coming soon and will be a lot of money. (Not holding my breath on that, but it would be nice.)
The internet is back to normal, so I'm assuming last night's slow down was a fluke. I signed up for YoutubeTV, and T-Mobile is giving Parmount+ free for a year, so that's nice. They also pay for my Netflix account, so I can't say that they aren't providing extra value for the money.
Okay, I think I've ranted enough for this morning. Have a good Wednesday!
