beansideHappy Halloween and Blessed Samhain, y'all! We're not planning to do anything this year--probably put a bowl of candy on the front steps for the little darlings as I have gotten too damn old to sit out, and lettimg them knock will set off the dog alarm, who will sound like he wants to eat them. I kinda miss seeing all the little ones in their costumes, but my back just will not take sitting on the stoop for how ever many hours. Especially since I'm not allowed to have liquor while I do it.
I don't miss booze much, but once in a while you just want a glass of bourbon and ginger ale. I still have a sip off Jess' now and again, but overall, thanks to meds, I'm not allowed. To be fair, it's not great for a diabetic either. Whenever I do have a sip off Jess' glass, it throws my sugar out of whack for a few hours.
Day 3 post Covid shot, and I'm feeling mostly better. Still a little run down, and my arm fucking hurts, but overall much better than it was. I'm up this morning getting ready for work, so all in all, definitely better than the second shot, as I was out four days with that one. I still had a little fever last night, so we'll see if that comes back today.
The USPS is sucking severely as of late. I put in an order at TomboyX, and it's taken close to two weeks to arrive, even though they get the items out insanely fast. Yet oddly, Jess' prescriptions got here in 2 days. Go figure. Maybe Express Scripts ships at a higher priority than an underwear company? That would at least make some sense. Anyhow, my Halloween underwear should arrive tomorrow. Whoops.
It's back to work again today. I don't really feel like it, but I'm gonna do it. If I start feeling shitty, I can always sign off early. I've got the sick time. Plus, I think for vaccine reactions, I can use our Emergency Covid sick pay, so I don't even have to dip into my bank.
There was this thing on the IKEA internal page that there was good news coming on Friday, and it was that they're giving us an "appreciation" payment of $900 in January. This isn't the bonus, that's still to be determined, this is in addition to it. So that was a nice thing to wake up to on Friday. I wasn't able to fully appreciate it then, since I was busy barfing up my coffee, but it's a really cool thing. Now if they'd just tell us yes or no on the bonus, that would be awesome, 'k thanks.
Okay, I'm going to get some more coffee, and get myself in a work-ish mindset. Y'all have a wonderful Halloween!
