Oh, it was nice to sleep in my own bed last night! I had some trouble winding down to sleep, but I don't think it was too late when I finally dozed off. Once I settled down, I totally conked out. I think I need another day or two of good sleep to catch up, but I feel like less of a zombie today.

Yesterday ended up being much more interesting than I'd thought it would be. My manager called me early in the day to request that I work on an inventory report, since the whole team save one guy was out. I'm not a huge fan of inventories, but I do know how to do them, so I agreed to help out. Then my manager says "don't kill me, but there's more." We're getting two new managers, which I knew, since we lost our other manager, and they felt like our team needs three. They've started, but they won't get training on our systems until November. So, in the meantime, they're getting a basic overview of what we do.

So, he asked me to show the managers what there is to know about inventories. I was on the phone with them, sharing my screen for nearly two hours. Talking almost constantly. My throat was so dry by the end of it. I don't even think I talk that much during D&D! They seem very nice. I had met the one at the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion meeting, but I didn't realize she was going to be our manager.

The discussion kind of moved between Inventory and all the rest of the things we do. There was a brief break as one of the Operational directors who happens to like me sent me stuff to do, so they got a view of how to cancel orders, too.

All in all, I think it went pretty well--better than I was afraid it would go when my manager asked me. And it shows his faith in me, asking me to train on a thing I don't actually do that often, which is nice. I know I was not his first choice, but the first choice was out sick and the second choice declined to do it, citing a potential family emergency. Both actually are in that department, so I don't feel particularly slighted.

Between training the managers and the sheer size of the inventory, I was busy all day, and the day went relatively quickly, which was a nice change for a Monday. My markets didn't come in til 4pm, so that'll be a problem for today me.

After work, it was time to go pick up a Walmart order and go pick up food for dinner. That ended up taking much longer than expected, owing to a HUGE line at Popeyes drive thru. I tried to go inside, but the doors were locked, so I was stuck there forever, because that was what dad wanted. Then, we got there and they were out of sandwiches, so dad didn't even get what he wanted.

Okay, that's about it for today. More coffee and something to eat. Have a good Tuesday, everyone!
