It's morning again. And I'm upright and sucking down coffee. I was wide awake at 5, but then I drifted a little bit and so the alarm was a bit of a surprise. I should have just dragged my ass out of bed at 5 and been done with it, because now I'm a little bit woofley.
I ended up with a bit of a headache thanks to the weather, and ducked out an hour early from work to lay down. I try not to do that, but I was just done with the day and ready to take a nap. I relaxed with the dog for about an hour and felt a bit better.
Today, I only work for 4 hours before I'm off to take Dad to the podiatrist. I am not looking forward to it. It's always a bit of a production number to get him out. It'll be fine, but it's exhausting.
Tomorrow, we shall have D&D. How well this is going to work with my sister out of town is anyone's guess. Dad may decide to go to bed mid stream, necessitating an extra long break. Hopefully, he'll wait until the end of the session, but we shall see. Yet again, we are at a point where I have no real idea where the crew is going next. There's some plot hooks they want to deal with, but no clue which one they're going to go hit first. I think it's going to be the lake monster? I'll reread that one just to be ready in case.
I have my third Covid shot scheduled in 2 weeks. I know I need it, but god, I don't want it. The second one was such a miserable time that I'm a just dreading it. I'm going to get it, but I set it up on a Thursday night so that I have a couple of days off after. The first shot sucked, but I only threw up once. The second shot, it was an all night affair, plus fever and feeling like someone had dragged me behind a truck. I'm the only one I know who has such a severe reaction. I put ginger ale and soup on my list of things to get. I also will need to get some coke for morning caffeine. Being diabetic sucks, for many reasons, but this is definitely one of them.
Okay, time to get some more coffee and get ready for the rest of the day. Have a good Thursday, everyone!

Date: 2021-10-16 09:15 pm (UTC)My right arm is crazy sore again. The *only* upside for me of the misery of the covid shot (I swear, the first dose made my arm hurt so much that I could only compare it to what I imagine my arm would feel like if someone stuck a knife in, twisted its jagged blade, and then left it there for three days), is that without that as a baseline, I would be complaining terribly about the singles vaccine.
My arm still hurts from that, but it's nowhere near what the covid one hurt like.
That is not an especially happy silver lining.
I will still cross my fingers that dose three is less miserable than dose two. (My primary care doc did assure me that dose 3 is not usually worse than dose 2.) I realize that that is also a very not sparkly silver lining, but i am reassured that dose 3 won't be as much worse than dose 2 as dose 2 was worse than dose 1.)
