Running late this morning. D&D ran a little late, and I was actually tired enough to sleep in some. Of course now I feel discombobulated, because I never sleep past 7:30. Hopefully, it won't make it hard for me to fall asleep tonight.

Yesterday was a busy day for me. I started out waking up super early for my day off, which was not ideal. Then, after much coffee, I was ready to start the day...with the D&D Celebration part 2, a four hour game playing the first half of the Wild Beyond the Witchlight.

Thankfully, this went better than Thursday night's session. I had a pretty good group of players this time. We gelled much better and spent the morning prowling the environs of the Carnival. It seems like it's going to be a lot of fun to run. After this, I'd say that I still enjoy running the game a little bit more, but I enjoyed playing too.

Then, it was time for an episode of Great British Baking Show, which started dropping new episodes this week. Only one episode a week, so no binging, but it was an enjoyable hour.

After that, it was a quick trip to the store and time to make dinner. Then, the regular D&D group!

This week, the murder muppets finished looting the evil warlock's castle, getting dosed with poison gas for their trouble, and having to put a zombie ogre out of its misery. In return they found a lot of expensive shit, including a Mace of Disruption that does extra damage on fiends and undead creatures, and a necklace of prayer beads. After a feast and time to get some rest, our heroes started out in the morning with a few carts to go and pick up the rest of the late great lamented chardalyn dragon. Soon after loading their carts, they started back towards the towns, but were confronted by three beserkers who immediately took aim at their spellcasters (after getting fireballed twice). The fight was brief, and upon rifling the bodies, they found that one had an ice ring bearing the symbol of the Frostmaiden who has lain the endless winter on the land.

As they tried to put the ring in the lead lined box, the world twisted and they found themselves teleported to the mountains outside of an icy cave. Upon entering the cave, they found two toddler aged white dragons, and one beserker. The sorcerer decided to make friends with the dragons and convinced them not to fight. The beserker was a little more complex, as thanks to an everburning flame of Auril the Frostmaiden, he was unkillable. They solved this by dragging him from the cave and killing him there. Then, they blocked the passage to the flame and left to head back to civilization for a spa day.

The hit points were enough to level up to 8th level and much rejoicing was done. Downside, Auril knows them, and is actively working against them!

We wrapped there for the night!

Next game--possible political intrigue? There's still a town sacrificing people, after all.

Okay, off to the dispensary for some gummies for the trip! Have an awesome Saturday, y'all.
