Jess kindly got up this morning to let me sleep in, but that didn't happen. Instead by 7:15, I was wide awake, and raring to go. Ah well, at least it let me sleep til then.

I forgot to say yesterday, but this entry is coming to you live from the new couch! We got the couch put together on Wednesday, so now we have two nice new IKEA couches. They're a lovely light gray color that will probably show every stain known to mankind. They're very comfortable for short people. It'll take some time to get used to having a shorter back, as our old couches were very traditional (also much uglier and broken down, so it's nice that Jess isn't in a hole now. It's also a little bigger, so Jess and I aren't knocking knees when we sit. The dog can actually snuggle between us comfortably.

Yesterday was my scheduled day as backup to the inbox, so of course the primary person was out and I got to do it for the second time in a week. Joy, joy. I don't hate it, but it annoys me. Especially since someone had tagged them self in an email, and didn't do it, so I never was able to get the inbox down to zero, it always had that one. Thanks, I hate it.

Otherwise, work was quiet. I helped two people get into our Talent for All system to do their self evaluation, because that thing is not intuitive. My manager encouraged me to use it to talk about everything I've done this past year, and brag a little bit. It's not something I do well, but I tried. I hate doing the self eval portion of our yearly performance evaluation. I get stuck between my "I work my ass off" and "I don't do anything that special." I tried to lean on the working my ass off side this year. We'll see if it gets me a bigger raise or not.

Not a whole lot going on today until tonight. I plan to sit on my ass and surf the net most of the day, when I'm not prepping for D&D and Monster of the Week.

So excited about D&D! It's been a long two weeks making sure the big bad was properly leveled to take on the party. The characters are at a weird place in leveling. High enough to be tough to beat, but low enough to still be kind of squishy. Also, there's a lot of them. They do incredible amounts of damage, so the big bad has to be leveled up enough to take it, but seeing as I don't want a total party kill, it's a bit of a balancing act. We shall see if I'm up to it tonight. I think our cleric is going to be busy tonight.

Okay, I've babbled about D&D enough for the moment. Time for more coffee! Have a great Friday everyone!

And meanwhile said cleric is busy counting spell slots and checking ranges to make sure they can keep everybody alive :)

Tonight's going to be so much fun!

I'm hoping you won't need it, of course! But yet.... :)

This should be interesting. Oddly enough, this is the kind of opponent Athradel should be good at, arcana clerics are basically intended to take out rogue spellcasters. But whether we can manage to make any of that work? We'll see.... :)
