beansideWhen I don't have a song playing in my head in the morning to mine a subject line, I go to Metallica or Foo Fighters. Both have huge back catalogs and interesting lyrics.
Yesterday wasn't as bad as I expected, but it was fairly busy. First, we went to SmallCakes to pick up cupcakes for Dad's birthday. I deviated from the planned order to get their Salted Caramel for my cupcake. (It was fabulous.) Then, to pick up the Walmart order. Later there was a trip to Walgreens to get Jess' prescription, and I cooked dinner.
Dad had requested hamburgers and hot dogs, but it was a little too warm to do them on the grill, so I cooked them in the skillet. He seemed to enjoy them just as much, and I didn't have to be reduced to a puddle of sweat, which I appreciated. I had bought three things of goat cheese, so we used one to put on the burgers, making them fancy. I tried stuffing a burger with the cheese, but it kind of melted into the meat, so it wasn't that creamy texture. Personally, I ate the goat cheese by itself with a drizzle of honey, which made me very happy.
Today is likely to be a long, potentially boring day. Unless a pile of stuff came in for the project folder, and all the markets actually bothered to send me reports, I will spend a lot of time at loose ends. Whoo. Sundays are always feast or famine. It just depends on what came in. And honestly, I'm not expecting a ton of stuff.
I've started planning our surprise vacation in October. I'm just waiting for my sister to confirm that she can get that Friday off before I book anything. I think we'll probably be scrapping the August Hershey visit in favor of having a longish weekend. We'll have most of the day Friday all day Saturday, and most of the day on Sunday before we have to go home. Which is kind of a short vacation, but it's the best we can manage right now, and it's still a couple of days away from our responsibilities.
My sister is planning a trip in Mid October, and now another one in December, which means that there will be a couple of weekends that we'll be in charge, so maybe we'll do another one for my birthday if we can swing it.
