Ugh. 6am came early again. People were shooting off fireworks well into the night. I don't think I actually got to sleep until between 1-2am. It's going to be a long day. And it doesn't even have the bonus of being time and a half like yesterday.
Yesterday, I got the markets that came in done before first break, and spent the rest of the day in the project folder. I'm so tired of that fucking thing. It's never going to end, because we get in new emails every single day of things that need to be done, and I'm a little burned out on it.
Jess and I are talking about taking a day off to go away. On a Thursday-I'll take off work, and Shelly will take off so we can go, and that way it won't be too crazy. We're thinking maybe HersheyPark, if it's not too hot or shitty weather when we're planning to go. Back up plan is maybe Lancaster. We haven't been to Hershey since we were able to stop using canes, so it's exciting not to have to get a scooter. Because let me tell you, the sound of a scooter trying to do those hills under my wide ass was dispiriting.
I don't know that I'll do much of the water park, though if it's warm, you never know. But the rest--they have a new (new to me, I think it's a few years old) indoor rollercoaster that looks hella fun, and not too full of jerking to bother my neck. I may also ride the Souper Dooper Looper, which I always enjoyed.
Alternately, there's a really nice little ice cream store in Lancaster that we could hit. They have sweet cream ice cream and I haven't been there in years, either.
Other contender was DC--we still haven't seen the zoo, and I would not object to lunch at the National Museum of the American Indian's cafe again. NYC was briefly in the loop for the Natural History Museum in Manhattan, but it was axed as too expensive.
But that's probably going to happen in late August, so there's time to consider what we want to do.
For today, work. Have a good Monday, everyone!
