Busy day today. Gotta take Dad to the doctor (still not really looking forward to it), then get his pills filled, pick up my prescription and maybe do a little grocery shopping. I'm out of cereal and milk, as well as needing a few essential items. As usual, the Dad stuff falls on me to manage. I don't mind, but it would be nice if just once in a while my sister would offer instead of it being a foregone conclusion that since I have a weekday off, I will do everything.
Then, tonight is D&D! I'm really looking forward to it. It makes sense to do it every other week, but I do miss it on the off weekends. Then tomorrow is MotW! It's an embarrassment of TTRPG riches!
Tomorrow, we'll do the usual errands, and pick up food for the week. This time, I will not forget to get lunchmeat, as it has been very difficult to scrounge up food for lunch and snackies.
So it's now almost been a year since Maryland did it's first lockdown. I remember going to Costco and getting food for a month, figuring that would be enough to ride out the pandemic. Looking back, the naivete was almost cute. I mean, we didn't know that the Cheeto would mismanage it to a criminal degree, prolonging it even more. I wonder, if we had done a national lockdown, if it we'd be more like New Zealand, where life is back to almost normal. Instead, we got this. 500,000 dead, and 29,300,000 cases.
To be honest, thanks to my own Covid case, the beginning of the lockdown is kinda fuzzy. I remember instacart and Doordash and a doctor visit a day for the first 14 days of illness, and the rest is kind of a fever soaked blur. I know I took a lot of naps, and was otherwise quietly miserable and coughing.
Now, I just want to get the shot over and done with so things can get to a new normal. President Biden says it'll be available to anyone by May. Here's hoping he's right.
