It was cold as fuck here yesterday. I know BGE is probably overloaded, but damn, I hope they get to us soon. Jess and I have a big fluffy comforter, plus a fuzzy blanket, and frankly, that's the only time of the day I'm warm. I have a little heater under my desk, so work's not too bad, but it's not enough to drive the chill entirely away. I start it early, so it has a little time to warm up.
As usual, after D&D, I slept really well. Woke up around 6:30, but thought I'd relax just a little longer, and didn't wake up again til 8:30, which is an entirely reasonable time to get up. Downside, my sister is up and telling me all about NPR's show last night, which makes it a little difficult to focus.
D&D last night! The Murder Muppets survived the frost giant skeleton, with a few fairly big damage. The Barbarian bravely jumped in front of the Paladin, taking a hit that would have taken him down to 3 hit points! (The barbarian was in full rage, so she only took half--still 9 points of damage.) The Paladin used Divine Smite to good advantage, doing extra damage on each strike. The Fighter, and two Rogues made skeleton shish kebabs with their rapiers, while the Sorcerer and Bard sniped the creature from afar. The Fighter took a mighty hit, but slid under the giant's weapon to finish it off!
Reeling post battle, the team barely noticed that a Dire Wolf was sneaking up, looking for an easy meal. The team defeated it quickly, and took stock of their injuries, providing healing for those who needed it. Then, with the self heating cauldron they'd liberated from the sea hag in the last game, they headed back to town. The cauldron turned out to be a very rare, very useful magical item, and after an amazing persuasion roll, the town head offered 5000 gold pieces for it.
We stopped there for leveling up, and taking of new abilities. Next game will be in two weeks, so you all get to listen to me babble until then.
Today, I have my Chaos Goblins, as we play Monster of the Week! So much excite! I love TTRPG weekend so much.
