So, the longer time has gone on from the act of domestic terrorism, the more pissed off I am. Mostly because I'm seeing a serious lack of consequences at the top. Sure, they're going to impeach the Cheeto again, but I'm not holding out much hope that the senate will remove. Maybe I'm wrong and enough of them will get off their asses, but we'll see.
Some excitement for me at work yesterday. I had two special projects that my boss set me working on. One was about the Boston spreadsheet. They had sent a pile of orders that they wanted us to remove from the report. Some were actually cancelled, but hung up on the report, but a lot were not. During the project, which my manager was actually working on as well, he decided that I'm going to be on a call with the market manager. This is someone who's pretty highly placed in the company. Then, he asked me to prepare a document of all the problems with the Boston warehouse, to be presented during the meeting.
When I said I'd like to take on more leadership roles so I can eventually advance in the company, I didn't expect it within a week. I was figuring in a couple months they'd throw me a bone. They're not hanging me out to dry, either. First, I write up the document, then I share it with my managers, and we workshop it. Then, the call with the market manager. Which is good, because I'm not that good with business writing, so I'll probably need the help. I spent the first ten minutes just staring at the open document, with my brain running in circles going "omg, omg." It's like my manager is trying to get me ready to be a team lead within the next few months. Then, I just need to wait for a position to open again.
So, that was my Sunday. Now onto Monday, and whatever it will bring.
