The bosses mentioned at work that we needed to write up our developmental plan, which is always a pain. We're due to have start up talks this week. Of course, I was off at 2 yesterday, so I did not write up my plan, as I was trying to get shit done. Then, I checked my email around 6, and found that I have my start up talk today at 10:30am. I get in at 10am, so that would have left 30 minutes to write it up. Instead, I spent the rest of the night coming up with a blurb. It's short, but I think it has everything needed. Also, my manager likes me because I'm low maintenance, and am always up to help out with projects, so I'm pretty sure I could write gibberish, and he'd be okay with it.
I made sure to include some nice such business-y phrases like "expand my skills and become a better asset to the team." Hopefully, this will make up for the shortness of it. It should be interesting, because my manager needs to type his stuff in, and he is the slowest typist in the world. I know I'm fast, but when we chat for whatever reason, it's just painful to see the blinking typing icon forever, and then a short sentence comes out of it. He usually just calls to avoid the typing.
Well, that didn't last long. The stimulus check is already mostly gone. We needed groceries, and there were bills to pay that ate it up. On the plus side, my paycheck will be mostly unencumbered on Friday, except that the tires are going to have to come out of it. So, mostly not unencumbered. Turned out, I didn't have fix a flat in my car, so I'm going to have to go get some. I'm tempted to Use that, and keep some in my car and hold off on the tires until my tax refund comes in. Or at least a few weeks, so I can save up the money. It's not like we generally go very far in my car, so it's workable. It's the downside of having a small SUV. Tires are insanely expensive.
The only thing I know I need to do this weekend is take a tablet stand I got dad back to Kohls. It didn't work with the case he has on it, unfortunately. And honestly, that otterbox is going absolutely nowhere. He has a little box next to his chair that was originally made to hold mail, and he will shove that tablet in there. One of his others already has a cracked screen, so the ipad is staying in the expensive case.
In D&D news, I continue to prep the modules that they could possibly go to next. There's 9 options, and I have no idea which they'll pick. Some have pretty big boss fights, so I'm kind of hoping they go with one of the other ones until they're 3rd level. We shall see.

Date: 2021-01-06 04:46 pm (UTC)(I can imagine my character wanting to systematically visit every town to see what's going on there and ask people about their experiences of the endless winter... but I'm not sure a pseudomedieval elf trying to apply formal survey procedures is a good choice for verisimilitude, and that also seems like it could lead to a race for "how fast do we get kicked out of every town in the Dale for asking nosy questions")
