The kitty was kind and didn't wake me up til 6:30 today. Whoo. I got up at 7:30 after she came back for the third time and started knocking shit around. Now she has eaten her tasty noms, and is napping. I should go over and wake her up. lol
I did my phone interview with UofMD Medical System, and I did well, so I have an in-person interview on Thursday there. I have a phone interview with Johns Hopkins Medical on Monday afternoon, and a phone interview with DaVita health on Monday morning. I'm honestly just so grateful that I'm finally getting some interviews. The time before and between the holidays was so dead that I was really beginning to worry. Now, I'm worrying in another direction. If the plastic surgery calls on Wednesday or Thursday and offers me the job, what do I do? On one hand, I don't want to turn down work. On the other, it's not my favorite of the offers. The benefits are mid, and it's dealing with a bunch of overprivileged people. Which can be trying. But, what if that's the only job offer I get? The thought of saying no makes me a wee bit panicky. Hopefully, they won't call until at least Thursday, after I get an idea what's going on with the UofMD interview.
Poor Dad was feeling the effects of his Covid and RSV vaccines yesterday. The nursing home called me because he was having a rough day, and I had to tell them that this is why he'd only had one Covid shot up til now. The first one was such an ordeal. He seemed a little perkier when my sister visited last night, so hopefully today he'll be feeling much better. Weather dependent, one of us will probably go up later.
After that, it was time to play our 3 year anniversary game of Frostmaiden. We finished up a battle with some undead, and heard that the pirate ghost ship was coming into town and went to check. They found a ship crewed largely by various flavors of mind flayers, some undead versions. After a frankly bonkers deception roll, they led the captain a good chunk of the crew to a less populous area, and attacked. I came very close to having the mind flayers eat two character's brains, but they survived to fight another day. And the word has just been given for them to abandon ship, so the party now owns a space ship that can also trawl the seas. Which, since one of the characters is literally a pirate should be awesome. And, since the two ultimate baddies got away, with one of the character's prized sword, it should give them something to do after this arc wraps up in a few more games. Mindflayer lich in spaaaace!
Today, I'm going to relax and see how the weather goes, and possibly go see Dad a little later in the day. Aside from that, I'll do a little more prep for my Mad Mage game tomorrow, and maybe jot something down for the Wednesday Blades in the Dark game. But mostly, honestly, I'll probably just be bored.
Okay, time to have some more coffee. Everyone have a perfectly lovely Saturday!
