It's going to be a day that involves many cups of coffee and maybe an afternoon nap. The cat has been bugging me since 2am, and I am wiped out. Around four, when I gently ushered her off me, she started going on the nightstand and knocking shit off. I gave up at six, when she launched my (thankfully undamaged) phone into the ether. No clue what was up her ass, but she was a holy terror this morning.
Today, I have a phone interview at 10:30 with University of MD Medicine, and then a nice long day of nothing until our Frostmaiden game at 7. Thus my plan to maybe take a little nap this afternoon, since I'll be awake until at least 10:30pm.
Tomorrow, we'll see what the weather looks like before we schedule anything. We're on the border between snow and rain, so no clue what we're actually going to get. Might be nothing, might be a couple of inches, might be a slushy mess.
Yesterday went pretty well, actually. I went up to visit dad, and got to watch him do physical therapy for a while. He seemed to actually be trying, which made me happy. The meeting went well. It had the head of each dept, Medical, Physical Therapy, Dietary and Activities. They all presented me with the plans, and asked if there was anything they could adjust to make him happier. They're looking at Feb 24th as a potential date of discharge, so we've got about 6 weeks to relax. I said my ultimate goal is to get him able to transfer into the wheelchair without the very difficult to manage Hoyer lift. Whether that's independently, or with a sit stand machine, I don't care. I just want him to be able to get out of bed.
After our meeting, I took him to the lunchroom and sat with him while he ate. (Next week, I'm going to take him down to the cafe so we can eat together.) He had a french dip sandwich and potato wedges, which looked very tasty. After lunch, I took him back to his room, and headed off to my interview.
Not surprisingly, I got there super early and had to sit in the car for 35 minutes. I went in about 15 minutes early, and of course, my interviewer got stuck on a call and was running 20 minutes late. It seems like a nice office, though the benefits aren't that great. I'd probably stick with the obamacare insurance we have now, since it's a better deductible. It's not that far of a drive, so it could definitely be doable, but we'll see. I should hear something by the middle of next week.
I got home in plenty of time for my phone interview with Hopkins, but that ended up gettign moved to Monday, as my interviewer was ill.
So, in short, we shall see. Hopefully something comes through soon.
And now, it's time for more coffee. I need to be fully awake by this interview! Everyone have an excellent Friday! You made it through the short week!
