And we're back to Monday. I woke up at 4:30 and therefore did not have to wake up to my alarm. Finally dragged out of bed around 5 and started my day. My alarms not set til 5:15, but it seemed silly to wait when I was very much awake.
Had a really nice weekend, despite spending most of it studying. Yesterday, we slipped out before my sister went to her employee's baby shower and grabbed PF Chang's for dinner. I forget how much I love their lettuce wraps. So tasty. Then, on our way home, we stopped at Lidl and got some snacks and also an off brand squishmallow for Jess. It's a torso-sized vampire bat, and it's fucking adorable. This is all plotting for when I'm on night shift, so they have something in bed with them when I have to leave for the night.
Once we got back, it was on to studying. I typed up the rest of the questions from the books review sections and then added some of my notes. One of my coworkers sent me a test she made, and between the two, it seems like I've mostly got it. So, fingers crossed. Jess quizzed me, as well.
I'm very tired this morning. It's going to be a multiple cups of coffee day. Thankfully last week, I picked up some Cafe Bustello Kcup pods and creamer and stored it at work, so I'm good to go.
Once I pass this test, I'll move on to observation on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. As I said to
poisontaster, it's unlikely I'm going to make super close friends with any of these people. Most of them seem to be married to cops, and I'm uncomfortable with that. I'm going to do my job and work to make sure things go well, but I'm probably not going to hang out with the cops.
Not sure what our Wednesday class will be about. I get the feeling that we're just marking time this week. The center has absorbed some cities that used to dispatch on their own, so we have three former police dispatchers joining us for the protocol, policy and procedures classes, so they don't want to do anything major before then.
It should definitely be interesting.
Okay, time for me to get my ass together and start putting on pants. Everyone have a most amazing Monday!
