The AC people come today! Yay! God I hope it's easily fixable. But at the moment, we're not doing too horrible.
Yesterday, I took out an Earnin and a Brigit, which are basically like little payday loans. You pay $7 when you repay. I've used it before when I'm in a bind. But we were able to get out enough to get a small AC unit! It's a tiny thing, and isn't going to work miracles, but it's dropped the temp to an almost reasonable 78 degrees. I was so fucking excited this morning to see it below 80.
Dad's money has not yet come in, which is not great. My sister is going to call today and see what the hold up is. He gets paid on Wednesday, so it's not like we'll be without for long, but it's still annoying.
Realized abruptly at around noon that I hadn't eaten anything in over 40 hours. I had just enough after the AC unit to get sushi, which was lovely. Many thanks to![[personal profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/user.png)
poisontaster for the suggestion. (After she yelled at me for not eating.). Of course, it occurs to me that the sushi was all I ate yesterday. Whoops. The heat has just had me so nauseous, I haven't really felt like eating, and no one wants to turn on the oven or slow cooker and contribute to the heat. I feel bad enough putting on the coffee pot.
I'll see what I can find to eat for breakfast. I think we have some almond butter breakfast bars. (highly recommend, excellent for dipping in coffee.).
Today, I have work, then I must go forth and pick up the plates to the RAV4. They were having trouble getting them off thanks to 15 years of rust, and were going to take it down to a repair shop to see if they could get them off. Once I have them, it's a quick stop at the MVA to drop them off, and then I'm officially done with the transaction. The RAV comes off the insurance tonight at midnight.
I don't really feel like working today, but I must. I took off early yesterday to get the AC unit, so I've kinda gotta go in today. Though honestly, it's very tempting to say fuck it and call out. It is fucking miserable in my office. I could technically work on the sofa, but our laptops are so fucking small that I can't really see.
Hopefully, by tomorrow, the AC will be fixed and will have caught up to the heat. That would be lovely. Then, I will work happily. Might keep the fan, though. It's nice having a breeze on my face.
Okay, I suppose I should put on pants now. I've been running around in a shirt and underwear since we got home from picking up the AC, but with people coming, I should probably not do that. Everyone have a wonderful Monday!
