Today feels like it's going to be a long day at work. Not that I have a ton to do, it just feels like it's going to drag a bit.

Yesterday was both awesome and annoying. The good: I did a virtual appointment with Plushcare, and was prescribed both more glucose strips, and muscle relaxants for my back. It's been bothering me for about 4-5 days. Started as just an annoying twinge and now it's what I'd call "half thrown out." I can move around okay, but if I move wrong, sneeze or cough it spasms rather painfully. The tizanidine that my doctor gave me seems to help. I slept much better last night, which was nice. It does make me a little sleepy, so I'm only going to be taking 1/4-1/2. of a pill during the day, but hopefully that'll be enough to take the edge off. The best thing about the visit was that I just pulled my computer in, and had my appointment while I was working. It took about 10 minutes, if that. I love online appointments.

Then, I finished up work and headed out to see the always awesome [personal profile] poisontaster for lunch. Our first choice of restaurant turned out to be closed, so no Persian food for us. Instead we went to the hole in the wall El Salvadoran restaurant near us. A solo diner kindly gave up her booth for us, so we were able to be seated. The food was wonderful, but the real star was the company. It was so nice and weird to have a grown up lunch for a change! It was really wonderful to see PT, as it's been probably 4 years since we got together between life and Covid.

Afterwards, it was time to go visit Dad. That...was not nearly as pleasant. They moved his room (au revoir shitty roommate who had the TV on full volume all the damn time.) and they had him in a wheelchair, which was pissing him off. I spent the first 30 minutes yelling, and got up to walk out once. He was back on "get me out of here now." He can't stand up without the sit stand aid, so I don't know how the fuck he thought I was supposed to do that. I told him he was being an asshole repeatedly, and pointed out that we'd ripped out his bed in preparation for getting a hospital bed, so he had nowhere to sleep. He was just an unpleasant ass, and it did not make me feel hopeful about bringing him home. It just was very upsetting and stressful. I'm glad I don't have to see him again til Wednesday.

After that, it was home to make a frozen skillet meal and take some muscle relaxants. I was happily stoned the rest of the night and went to bed early. Today, I'm going to call about the Elder Care in home medical care, which would be helpful.

Okay, time to get myself together for work. Everyone have a perfectly lovely Tuesday!
