Subject line from a song I referred to as the TikTok song, as every other D&D video seemed to use it. Actual song is very catchy and kind of cool. Once in a while I get dragged into new music, usually thanks to Jess.
Work yesterday was long. We had the Code of Conduct meeting, which turned out to be because while I was on vacation, in an online meeting, someone was either having sex or watching porn, unmuted. So, we had to get a lecture on not stealing company time, and not having sexual material in work. It was just thoroughly uncomfortable, and I'm not sure why anyone needed to be told this. After the lecture, we discussed the reorganization a little bit, and our manager confirmed that she basically doesn't know shit.
It also has become clear that while we'll find out our new job title and what they're going to pay us for it during our one on one, we're not going to know what that will actually look like for a while yet. We'll have the competency profile, but it's not going to tell us what we'll actually be doing. So, that was awesome to find out. They're "still figuring out the new Ways of Working."
They piloted this shit in Spain over a year ago, so you'd think they would have all this shit worked out. But, I suppose that translating a program from a relatively small country to the US is going to be a bitch. Again, this was all so badly done, it's amazing. If they could bork up the reveal in any possible way, they did. I'm generally pretty positive about my job, but this is straining my good will.
Last night and this morning I have been very achy. I don't know why. No other symptoms, just really achy. My right shoulder is especially pissed at me, and I don't remember doing anything to it.
No real plans this weekend. I know my sister is going out on Saturday, so we'll be dad watching both days. I mean, I want her to get out now and then. She's an extrovert, so it's good for her to socialize, but it annoys me that it means we'll be stuck at home for my entire weekend. Not that we had anything I needed to do, but it would have been nice to be able to get out, even if it was a trip to the grocery store. But on the other hand, she watches Dad while we play D&D most weekends, so I guess it evens out.
Okay, going to go find something to eat so I can take some ibuprofen. Everyone have a good Friday! You made it!
