Read the latest SPN spoilers, which were...interesting. Not giving anything away above the cut, don't worry. I'm a spoiler whore, I'll freely admit that. But I think a large part of my love of spoilers is that it never works the way I expect. I was spoiled for the end of Season 2 BSG, but damned if when "As president of the colonies, I surrender," came out of Gaius' mouth, I wasn't sitting there going "Oh, fuck.



So, wtih that in mind, I looked at the spoilers for SPN season 2.

Okay, I'll admit it, I hate that they're killing John off. I'm an unapologetic John fangirl, and a massive JDM fangirl.

But then, I go read some of the boards this morning...

Jesus fucking christ! Did Kripke kill your dog? Take a deep fucking breath and step back from the monitor.

So, they're adding a few recurring characters. Deal. Yes, the younger chick could be annoying, but have a little faith in the writers. They've made a few wrong steps, but they usually pull it back.

And gee, I'm sorry if you think killing the character you hate is a bad thing, suddenly. You spent the first season bitching that you wanted John dead. Now, suddenly, it's a cop out? Make up your goddamned mind. I came to the conclusion that you all watched an entirely different show than I do months ago, but damn. Now, you're reading different spoilers too?

Ah, I feel much better now.

I didn't need to know that they were killing John off, but you know, I agree with you about what you're saying. Everyone was saying oh we want John dead, he's an abusive dog who just needs to die, and now that they're getting their wish, they're going to bitch about it? *shakes her head*

You *know* how I feel about John, hell I'm making a whole fanfiction archive dedicated to stories about him which I guess will now be pointless, but you know what, dead isn't always dead on that show...not to mention if this pilot of JDM's fails you never know what could happen.

I love John. But hey, that's why I write fanfic. (The archive of which is so not pointless, dammit--I need somewhere to put my smutty John stories!)

And I'm just going to sit back and trust that Kripke's going to do this right, and know that yeah...dead? Not always permanent in a show like this.

And, honestly. I'm just going to trust Kripke. He hasn't fucked over the family stuff yet. *grin*

From the sides I looked at, they're shooting out of sequence to accommodate Jeff, which makes me wonder what they're up to. *grin* As I said, nothing ever comes out the way it read.

I can't believe I'm going to say this but how many times did they kill Buffy and Angel off on BTVS?

I'm going to trust Kripke, work on my Daddy's Boy Universe and hope it comes out alright when the air the first ep of the season which is coincidentally 3 days after my birthday. Happy birthday to me.

I'll say it again: I do NOT fucking understand fandom and their wacky hijinks when it comes to stuff like this. I thought they'd be dancing a fucking jig when they heard that John would die, considering all the wank about how he was an abusive father and blah blah crazycakes, but now it's a cop-out. And their irrational anger at the very possibility of a recurring character... I. just. *hands*

Apparently, John should have to answer for his abuse, or some such shit. I have no clue anymore. I think I'm giving up the SPN TWOP board. It's not good for my blood pressure. If they're so unhappy with every damned choice Kripke's ever made aside from casting Jensen's pretty ass, why are they watching the show?

I think that no matter what decision the writers made at this point re: John, it'd be considered the wrong one over there. Because there's so much mad hate-on for JDM and John. And I'm just trying to ignore the weird misogyny of the "woman recurring characters! Near testosterone-laden show! Cry havoc and unleash the jumping sharks!" craziness.

How weird, because I just heard relatively new spoilers that they weren't killing John!

Here's the straight scoop from series creator Eric Kripke himself: "We will introduce a new set of 'hunters' this season — a mom and her daughter, who will be about the same age as the Winchester boys. John will definitely have survived the car crash, he’s alive and well, and he’ll soon have a face-to-face confrontation with the demon." (Ausiello)

Oh! And BTW, I dropped by the read the Andrew fic. I loved it, and will be friending you in case you guys decide to post more. Can't live without my 'Of Bastard Saints' universe fix. :-)

*grin* First off, friended back! Thank you, glad you enjoyed it! (and yes, plenty more where that came from!)

Second...it's interesting, because on second read of the sides...I'm beginning to wonder.

Cause we know that JDM's up for 4 episodes, and the episode where they say he's dead is #2, which means that either they're: 1. flashbacks, 2. Demon!Daddy (rawr) or 3. John's being a douche and letting one or more of his boys think he's really dead.

Personally, I'm rooting for #3. *grin* Cause I love me some John.
