So, another year gone. Wow. That went fast.
I won't say it was an easy year, or even a good one, but it was a learning year, and one that hopefully set the stage for an upcoming good year.
I think the lesson of this year can be summed up in one easy phrase, which I will shamelessly rip off from the Kushiel series. "That which yields is not always weak."
Amazing how simple that is, isn't it? Shyeah, right.
I should add a second part to that sentence. "That which yields is not always weak, but that which does not yield invariably gets run over by a semi."
Or, as the Lady is fond of saying to me. "Learn the %#@#&* lesson, already!"
As usual, thank you to all of you for giving me pets and praise, and helping me get through another year.
Here's hoping that next year is better than ever for all of you, and here's hoping that next year this time, we're remembering a year without any tears.
And, to my beautiful wife...happy anniversary. Five years, can you believe it? Who knew? I love you so very much, and I'm so honored to be allowed to share my life with you.
