I'm working on my second day without any soda (or caffeine after my morning coffee). I need a blankie and a nap.
So, as
nilchance mentioned, we've begun on the Weight Watcher's program. So far, so good. I know it'll be difficult, but I also know it'll be more than worth it. I'm looking forward to being able to finally ride the Great Bear at Hershey (which is my 1 year goal).
The whole family is on the plan, so hopefully, that'll help keep us all motivated. Eventually, I'd like to go back to learning Ju-jistu, but I think I want to dump a few pounds first.
We all went shopping last night, running around with our little points sliders and books, trying to decide what low point snackies to get. (nibbles on radishes) I think we scared some of the people. Much love and snuggles to
alysonwonderlan who fielded my crack-addled phone call about marinades without once smacking me.
*grin*
I think that pretty much covers the last few days, really. Aside from that, all is good.

Date: 2004-07-16 11:20 am (UTC)Couple little hints of my own:
- The pre-made individually wrapped rice crispie treats are only 2 points each, at least the Safeway brand are. And SO WORTH the 2 points. :-)
- Ruby Tuesday's now gives you the calories, fat and fiber for ALL of thier menu items on the menu so you can check your points right there. It rocks!
- http://www.dwlz.com/Restaurants/1allrestaurants.html - an insanely long list of points values for different restaurants.

Date: 2004-07-16 11:40 am (UTC)Oooh, I love rice crispie treats! I'll have to look at it. And I might have to give Ruby Tuesday's another try. (We'd kind of boycotted them after being shoved in a table by the kitchen, where we were promptly forgotten, when there were open spots in other areas. According to one of Jess' former co-workers, who also worked at the Towson RT, it was standard practice for less "desirable" people such as overweight people, obvious gays and lesbians, and also anyone who semeed to be of Middle Eastern descent.) I can always try the White Marsh one.
I was looking at that site earlier! One of the people off the fandom-oriented WW support had pointed it out. I'm looking forward to Cracker Barrel again. Some of their options aren't half bad.
Oh, and if you hadn't tried them, Healthy Choice's carmel swirl ice cream sandwiches are wonderful! And only 3 points. But they taste like a McDonald's carmel sundae. Mmmmm....

Date: 2004-07-16 11:53 am (UTC)I'll have the try the healthy choice ice creams. One of the things I would suggest you avoid are the Smart Ones Macaroni and cheese tv dinners. They made me super sick. Bill really likes thier frozen pizzas, though.
